Person A: Why is Peyton Manning wearing pink wristbands?
Person B: Because its breast cancer month
Person A: Oh...
I'm sorry, I just dont believe this increases awareness, Selling pink items(jerseys, hats, team apparel, etc...) to raise money to support it sure. Wearing it on the field, no.
Person B: Oh.....
Person B possibly searches or donates to Breast Cancer awareness because it's on their mind now . You know what they say? Out of sight , out of mind . People who aren't effected by this shit often forget about it . This just puts it back into peoples minds that it's still a serious thing and they need your help .
If it gets one extra person to donate or read up then it's a mission acheived
Plus the NFL would have been more than happy to do this . Anything that makes the public image look better is a +Last edited by Archer; 10-12-2009, 03:34 PM.Comment

Secondly, you yourself said it at one point. They sell the stuff to benefit breast cancer research. If you're going to BUY the apparel, why wouldn't you at least wear it, in the off chance, going back to what Archer said, that it would raise awareness?
I understand it's not pretty, but who cares? We're still watching football, it's not ruining the game or anything. It's not like they're using a big severed titty as the ball or something.Comment

I already said I understand it. But you guys can keep explaining it as you please.
I just thought it was backwards of the NFL to not allow someone to mourn over Taylor, but they can wear a non team color because it supports breast cancer.
If someone wears pink in December, will they be fined for wearing something of personal interest?Comment

Granted, I'm not anti-pink gloves/gear. But them blowin' up, they need to SHUT THE FUCK UP AND COOK THE WINGS.
Esjay FTW. lol.Comment

I have no problem with it.. some people I've known have lost someone or had someone beat breast cancer.
Obviously the OP has never had that problem.Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment

I'd be interested to see if after the pink-ness in the NFL, how many people recovered or beat breast cancer. Or found out sooner.Comment
