Lmao i think its time you change your sig the front office brings humility to rams fans everywhere

listen witherspoon is worth more than a rookie who is unproven and hasnt started a game yet and a measley 5th round pick the guy is a solid tackler who if you watch the rams has been one of the only highlights beside oj and bartell(who is cooling down)....yes we have lauranitis but besides him we are starting practice squad players

God i wish every rams fan would boycott the rams until the owners sell the team losing them as much money as all the hearts they have broken those in L.A. and some of them in stl

He had Pro Bowl level seasons in '06 & '07. Last year he was easily the best LB on the team, and this year he hasnt made any big plays but is playing with various injuries.

With Little missing so many games in '07 & '08, Witherspoon & Atogwe have been the only two guys on the defense who consistantly play at a high level and make plays during the Lamehan/Spags era (Bartell didnt emerge until last year, and has not played well since he got hurt in Week 2 or 3).

With that said, I can see why they would move him, but they got zip in return, and it shows they are throwing in the towel. I mean, trade or cut the guy in the offseason. At least pretend you're trying, even though they clearly aren't.

Love this move. Gibson has potential, but we could use some LB help. Witherspoon will be nice at middle this year. Next year he can take Gocong's place and improve the unit.

          He isn't a middle linebacker.

He played MLB the last couple years strictly out of need. He can play MLB, but he's much more effective on the ouside.

Yeah, and hell take Gocong's place next year.

Looks like we just lost Gaither for the year, so thankfully we did pick him up.
              RIP HK, JJ

ha, you're right about that. I have sigs turned off. Completely forgot that was even there.

And I was off-base with my comments on Witherspoon. He has had some productive seasons. However, he is approaching 30 and by the time this thing gets turned around he will be past his prime.

Yep, gotta give the guy props for playing out of position to help the team. However, I think one of the reasons for the Rams downfall has been playing too many guys out of position.

This is the worst collection of WR's, probably ever.

Aside froom Avery, only hardcore football fans might remember Tim Carter from his Giants days, or know who Ruvell Martin or Keenan Burton are. Very hardcore football fans might recognize the others.
That's one of the saddest receiving cores I've ever seen. Are you sure this isn't a roster from the now defunct NFL Europa?

Funny. Maclin is still on the Eagles. Gibson is not.

Maclin was a 1st round pick; Gibson was not. Teams are more willing to part with a 6th round pick vs. a 1st. Only time will tell who ends up being the better receiver in the NFL.

True. But if he were that valuable/good, I believe the Eagles would have utilized him. Look at Marques Colston.

Gibson got a lot of publicity in the local papers and newcasts because he had some eye opening catches during off season practices, and a few meaningless preseason games in the 2nd half. I was impressed with what I saw, don't get me wrong, but if I were a Rams fan I would not be happy with this trade.
