Our team performing like shit is no fault of Thompson's hirings/firings on the roster. Ryan Grant hasn't gotten the ball consistently, the 3-4 switch has been decent but it seems like our pass rush is evaporated. Injury has hurt us in a few areas, losing Finley and Jordy hurts our passing game. McCarthy's playcalling has sucked since those two have been gone. A 5 wide set is something MM likes to use a lot. But running it without the personnel is stupid.
In the beginning of the game, we ran a few short plays and runs and we moved the ball nicely, and then we chuck it, and chuck it again, then Rodgers has one of those plays where he runs and looks for someone and gets sacked. Can you fault him? Sure, get rid of it , or get comfortable with running A LOT, Aaron. But I think its him trying to execute an offense that we cant run without some of the players we are without.
Running a simplified west coast offense is the best thing we can do right now. Run the ball. We have Grant, Green and Jackson. Get the ball to Driver and Jennings and let them make plays. But we've gotta stop living and dying by the big play.
10+ though? I'd settle for a playoff birth. However many wins that may take to get.Last edited by Tengo Juego; 11-08-2009, 08:15 PM.Comment

Do you have any proof of this? I thought he pulled the Bears game out of his ass earlier this year, so you are obviously wrong on this season's comment.Comment

Aaron Rodgers has started in 24 games, GB has beaten one good football team in that span so far (Indy.) Sorry, I do not consider a T-Jack lead Vikings team as ''good,'' especially when they lost weeks later to the exact same team, but with Gus Frerotte starting. Before I even consider putting this guy in my top 10, much less my top 5, which is laughable right now, he needs to beat some good football teams.
Aaron Rodgers will most certainly do that in the near future, but right now, he is clearly fucking overrated. And I have to say, whenever he does whatever the fuck it is he does in the pocket at certain moments, I laugh every single time.Comment

After last night's game, I think we can consider the Cowboys a good team. They shut down one of the more explosive offenses in the league at home. Let's see if Rodgers can perform against them and lead his team to a victory.Comment

How can sacks be Rodgers fault when he has no pocket to even step into? I see other offensive lines make a damn wall against our pass rush. How did he pick up this terrible habit all of a sudden compared to last year? Between the fucking holding calls on every play and pathetic protection it's the offensive line in my opinion. Sure Rodgers takes some sacks..but blaming him completely is a joke. When half of the plays result in a holding call or sack.
I don't know where to find the statistics, but I would be willing to bet our offensive line is the most punished for holding in the NFL.Comment

Peter King made a great point in that the Colts offensive line is basically the same as the Packers in terms of skill right now but Manning has only taken 7 sacks because he gets rid of the ball so fast.Comment

70%. Your BF lust blinds you. Are you watching the same games? I also think he holds the ball to long at times. But to blame all these sacks on him is really stupid. I'm seeing guards/tackles get pushed back into the QB, tackles blocking inside and letting DE's run free to the QB, tackles blocking inside and leaving DE's for the TE. Rodgers is running for his life far too often. The O-Line is horribly bad at pass protection. They are getting better at run blocking though.Comment

He is... and could be top 5 material, in the near future. But throwing a guy on the top 5, without seeing two full seasons, is jumping the gun. A player doesn't even qualify for my top 10, until I see at least two seasons from the guy.
Blame the line, blame the defense, but a blind man can see Rodgers has a few flaws, that need some serious working on.Comment

When AR has backs that can catch the ball, and an average O-Line to work with, and doesn't get it done, then you can question his leadership ability.Comment

Hate to burst your bubble. AR does have a ways to go before anyone can call him a winning QB. And as much of a BF fan as I am, he was a below average playoff QB. One of the greatest ever regular season QB's, but still average at best in the playoffs.Comment
