Bob Stoops is rumored to be the next coach in South Bend.

                    Butch Davis

I know he was shit as an NFL coach. There is no denying though that he's a great college coach. He turned "Da U" around despite having a reduced number of scholarships, and look at some of Butch Davis' recruits: Ray Lewis, Kenard Lang, Edgerrin James, Bubba Franks, Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne, Bryant McKinnie, Jeremy Shockey, Phillip Buchanon, Ed Reed, Andre Johnson, Willis McGahee, Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow II, Jonathan Vilma, Vince Wilfork, Antrel Rolle.

And, it was his players, not Larry Coker's that were the foundation of the 2001 Undefeated National Championship team. And the 2002 National Championship Runner-Up.

Notre Dame could pull Davis away from UNC for the right price. And seeing what they paid for Weis, I can't see why they couldn't come up with a sizable offer for Davis to make the jump. Not only would he be getting paid but he would have the power of Notre Dame to recruit with. That's a scary combination.

Davis could probably get 1/3 of those Miami players past the ND admissions board. Notre Dame isn't a Stanford or Northwestern when it comes to academic standards, but it definitely isn't "Da U" recruiting Willie Williams. Davis' recruiting at UNC has been fairly good, but its not like he's pulling in Lawrence Taylors every year.

I don't think Davis' recruiting at Da U would transfer to ND, kinda like how Dick Rod went into the tank after he left WVU for Michigan.

Its Brian Kelly unless Urban wants to make my dreams come true and comes to south bend.

Here is why its not anyone else.

                            All the NFL Coaches:
Nobody wants to see a NFL coach in ND just because of Weis's failure as a Head Coach. Billick, Gruden, and whoever else people are naming just arent gonna happen. Only one i see them realistically pursing is Tony Dungy but i mean come on.

                            Stoops:
Doesn't make sense for him. Would be great for ND since he is a defensive coach and is high profile and could continue the Irish ways of choking in important games, but he wont do it because Oklahoma is a great situation for him.

                            TCU Coach:
Is content with building TCU. Turned down his alma mater Kansas State to stay at TCU. Why would he go to ND? Unless he secretly wants to jump from a great TCU program where he probably is treated like a god, to a 6-6 football team that is supposed to be 10-2.

                            Urban Meyer:
Yeah okay lets just leave a powerhouse at florida to go coach at a mess of ND. Even i wouldnt do that.

That leaves me with Brian Kelly.
Wins everywhere (19 seasons coaching only 1 losing season)
Irish Catholic (Big deal to the boosters)
Actually could want to go there
Former Linebacker and DC (will give the AD the illusion he is a defensive guy)
Turned Cincinnati around and made Tony Pike a great QB (will do the same for Andrew Hendrix the 4 star QB coming in next season)

Sounds to me like it just matters on how much money he wants to make.

I'm a big fan of TCU Coach. He usually does well in any NCAA 07 dynasty I run. I'm also partial to UF Coach and Texas Coach.
