I've been aprehensive about the coaching staff for the past two years. Still am.
The way the last two seasons have ended, who wouldn't be concerned?
Such is the nature of being a fan. You want to call it being fickle, be my guest and keep on prodding.

He had hip surgery in the offseason and I think that played a role. Still think he'll be a good kicker. He had ice water in his veins the first two years.
edit to your edit: That's also another thing. People didn't realize Suisham was on our roster first a few years back. The Redskins made a scapegoat out of him but he's been servicable over the last couple of years. Obviously far more reliable than Folk at this point in time.Last edited by Rayman; 12-21-2009, 07:41 PM.

Was hoping we could shelve him.

Nuk, you're awesome for this. Like, I wanted the Saints to win, but I don't care that much, especially if they win-out. Anywho, I hope you enjoy that vacation.
This reminds me of what I said after the Pats lost the Super Bowl: I'm glad I'm not a Patriots fan. I've got a lot of love for the Saints, because my mom's fam is from the NO, but still, I don't care.
And I'm glad I don't care. I'd be really upset if I did. HAHA, maybe it's because the Raiders won, and with Russell at the helm (later on), too.
Still though, the opening post to this thread was one of the greatest things I've ever read on this site...Comment

"I can see the ghost of (former owner) Mike D. dancing on Bourbon Street right now, there's something in the air"
"You look at how we've found a way to win some of these games, and you have to feel like something is in the air"
"This is a team of destiny"
"We deserve it, all this town and this team has been through, you can't help but think this is our time"
There was even a call in show that had this as the question of the day: "We already know the Saints will be undefeated in Miami, the question is, are you cheering for the Colts to be undefeated as well when we meet?"
I shit you not, this was the ongoing topic of a radio show that I had to endure for three hours of my drive home for the holidays. There is no fanbase more stupid and delusional than that of Louisiana. The same morons who ruin LSU games ruin the NFL for me every fall. Buncha dumb ass fairweathers.Last edited by NAHSTE; 12-22-2009, 08:37 AM.Comment

Nope, they seriously thought that. They were throwing out so many garbage justifications for the luck they've gotten, it's ridiculous.

But there comes a point when I have to cheer against a team solely because of proximity to their dumb ass fanbase.
I am starting to see why most SEC fans hate Louisianans. As fun as a place as it is to get drunk and eat good food, the football talk can get a little moronic at times.
I one time heard a guy at work tell me with a straight face that Drew Brees was the best QB in the NFL. I then laughed and ran and told another guy, who promptly looked at me like I had 8 heads for not agreeing with the first guy.Comment

I admit, some of the stuff people say is crazy. But these fans have sat through (and supported) a team that is about to make only its seventh playoff appearance in 42 years. People are gonna act a little strange when that happens.Comment

You act like the Saints are the only team in the world that has a portion of the fan base that says crazy stuff and attracts some fairweather fans, when they have the second best record in the NFL.

I admit, I'm a Saints fan, and I get a good laugh too. Not sure how postgame shows are elsewhere, but to me, the one on WWL 870 is pure comedy. I love it.Comment

I think when you start believing your a team of destiny, you think everything will just go right for you and that will usually bite you in the ass.Comment

You still can't watch a Cardinals game without hearing about it at some point, like it's a reason to pull for the team or the man. It's old, and unless he's bagging groceries right now, why do we really give a damn? I'm not saying it's not a great story, because it is.... It'll be a great story the week leading up to the hall of fame induction. It's meaningless right now, because we all know who the guy is, and where he came from.
Katrina was a disaster for many many people, and it should be remembered, but to use it in sports, the way this organization/fans have been? Play the fucking game, and if you win the superbowl, then make some type of tribute. But right now? Who really cares? I'm not pulling for the team because of it. If anything, I'll laugh even harder once they lose in the postseason.Last edited by Nukleopatra; 12-22-2009, 05:32 PM.Comment
