Hell we almost beat the Ravens in the first game with a 3rd String QB. Yeah we lost a LOT of bad games, but I guarantee if you asked the Colts or the Chargers who they would rather play between the Steelers or the other wild-card teams, they would pick the other. Jets, Texans, Broncos and Ravens are not as good as the Steelers. Plain and simple they aren't. Yes we've played like shit in numerous games, hell if we just fucking beat the Browns or the Raiders or the Chiefs we wouldn't be in this mess, but we are still a good football team and you trying to fit in is laughable. And Woodley can speak his mind, that's how he feels and I'm sure a lot of other players were mad at the Colts and Woodley was the only one that had balls enough to say something about the upcoming games. When you have a chance to go 16-0 or 19-0 and sit your starters and it hurts another team, you would be just as mad.

Trying to say the Steelers aren't a good football team right now is laughable. If you would have said this 3 weeks ago, yeah I would have agreed with you, but when teams start looking to win games instead of letting bad teams beat you it is something to be scared of. When we lost to the Browns I was embarrassed because we basically ruined any chance we had. Then something happened against the Packers. Our team started to fight, something they haven't done all season. That fight is what we had last year in the Superbowl run, and something that scares opposing teams. We've had 2 close games in the last two weeks that we came out victorious, again something that hasn't happened all season.

Do I think the Steelers are better than the Colts or Chargers right now? No, but they are a better team than any of the remaining teams fighting for the Wild-Card.
i am not ripping my favorite team, i am just being real. if the steelers were the best wildcard team out there, we would be in the playoffs instead of hoping for a miracle to get in. why would any team be afraid of us? any lead we have will be erased in the second half. parcells always used to say that you are what your record says you are and right not we are a slightly above average team that has failed to win the games we needed to. this whole most dangerous team shit is just idiots like you and kornstar trying to rationalize a bad year so just stop that shit.

for those teams you are accusing of 'laying down'... we would do that same thing if we had no bye week headed into the playoffs. i dont blame them and i dont see how we even factor into their decision. they are thinking of the health of their team, not who they want to play.

Archer I agree with you that the Steelers should have won more games and this wouldn't even be an issue. They lost to numerous bad fucking teams. However, I just feel that a team that could go 19-0 and rests their best players is a disgrace to the game. Like Herm said, "You play to win the game".

As for you Steeljake, let me reiterate my point. Out of all the Wild-Card teams right now, the Steelers are the best right now. Yes they still need help, not really a miracle but yes a lot of help but I would play the Jets/Texans/Broncos before I had to play the Steelers or Ravens.

Anyways, it's a moot point and we'll find out on Sunday just who gets in. I hope the Steelers get in and prove that they are still that team that is very good when they want to be.

That's why we call them a good "playoff" team. If they were good during the regular season we would call them just a good team.

why would any team be afraid of us? any lead we have will be erased in the second half.
Teams might possibly be afraid of the fact that historically the Steelers are dominant during the playoffs and winning last years Super Bowl?

parcells always used to say that you are what your record says you are and right not we are a slightly above average team that has failed to win the games we needed to. this whole most dangerous team shit is just idiots like you and kornstar trying to rationalize a bad year so just stop that shit.
You're right. Steelers were very average during the regular season. But we are talking PLAYOFFS. Anything can happen in the playoffs. And out of all the teams that are borderline/not making it this year teams, Steelers are probably the most likely to make something happen.

for those teams you are accusing of 'laying down'... we would do that same thing if we had no bye week headed into the playoffs. i dont blame them and i dont see how we even factor into their decision. they are thinking of the health of their team, not who they want to play.
They might "rest" their players for their "health", but it very possible that the extra incentive of possibly deciding which team you want to see in the playoffs may very well play a factor in whether or not the players rest.

while i respect the opinion of the mack from montreal, i must disagree with his royal pimpness. the steelers arent a playoff team this year, or they would be in. period. the defense that has served us so well in the past is the worst 4th quarter d in the league. in the past that defense could hide the fact that we couldnt run the ball effectively. the lack of a pass rush and the putird play of our secondary put us in shoot outs and while ben is capable of winning them, the o-line is not capabel of consitenly giving him time to do it.

I agree that anything can happen in th playoffs but the beauty of the nfl is that unlike the nba, you must be good in the regular season as well. this team has not preformed in the regular season so in turn they are not a playoff team. it is really just that simple. as for teams trying to 'chose' who they face in the post season, i disagree there as well. I personally would not put my starters on the field against a rex ryan coached team for concern that he would take shots at my guys. with the any given sunday mentality why would any team try to chose who they play? if they think team A is soft and try to getthem in, what happens if they lose to that team?

all this is moot really. if we had beaten the raiders or browns or chiefs, none of this would matter. but we didnt. so we arent in, and barring a miracle we wont be and frankly i dont feel this team desrves to be.
