I wonder how many people will transfer when Meyer retires? I say 4 or 5 players

Oh yeah my credibility really sucks. Because I posted one thing that was wrong... I obviously have no credibility any more, this one instance of being wrong outweighs the hundreds of times I've been right dating back to 2006, almost exclusively in college football.

ESPN did everything they could to rip Ohio State and Jim Tressel to shreds during one of the most biased, agenda filled excuses of "journalism" I've ever seen, and you know what? When the smoke cleared and it was all said and done, Ohio State had one self reported violation and ESPN's information was false, but the rest of the nation still believed that we ran a dirty program, had a bunch of thugs, etc. because ESPN never retracted its statements and didn't publish our statements of denial.

The reason people ran with this story was because its believable given what he's done in the past... and I'm pretty sure that a major website didn't even touch this issue until sources confirmed it was wrong and they posted Meyer and Floyd's denial of the situation.

They have a bullseye on their back due to all of the crap Meyer has pulled in recruiting in the past. Futhermore every top-notch program in the nation is in the public eye and gets a ton of attention for virtually anything. Case in pont lets take a look up into Michigan: Someone accuses RR of violating NCAA rules, and all of a sudden its the hot news around the nation. Meanwhile, at Michigan State they have 10 players beat the shit out of some kids at a party, and it barely registers a bleep on the radar.

You are also a Buckeye. The Gators embarrassed your team. I wonder if this plays a part here.
I have no problem with Meyer or Florida... they beat our ass and deserved to win that game and I hold no ill will towards them. I actually gained some respect for Meyer in that game because he could've made it a lot worse than he did, he could've put up 50 if he had wanted to.

The only team that I absolutely hate is Michigan. And little brother (Cincy) is working their way up but they'll be back to irrelavence in a few years anyway, so it won't matter.
Ripped a good man with rumor and innuendo, which is wrong, whether the lies target a coach from Ohio or Florida. You of all people should understand that spreading lies about a good coach is wrong.
I do... and I get the point your trying to make blitz.

People were saying the same thing in 1986.

And the same thing was said about many programs in down times.

            Old news.

You do realize that ND and Army is being played at Yankee Stadium because of 1.The crowd that will be there and 2. As a "throwback" game to the classic 1946 0-0 tie that was played at Yankee Stadium as well right and all the other great games they played at the Old Yankee Stadium when both were national powers?

You also realize that playing at the Meadowlands is Navy's call since they are the home team and they have played Notre Dame there 6 times. The last time being in 2004? Not to mention Navy has played 6 other times at The Meadow Lands against teams that aren't Notre Dame.

You do know all this right?

LOL at this thread. Blitz went from accepting one man's (falsely reported) religiousness to destroying an entire institution based on their religious affiliation.

Catholic bashing is so FTL, and has nothing to do with football. I too bristle at the overexposure Notre Dame gets (like the "Win 9-10 games, you're in the BCS!" provision they enjoy) but why make blanket statements about Catholicism and Irish people?

I'm a Mick Catholic, who respects what Notre Dame means to the CFB landscape, but by no means do I let that effect who I cheer for on Saturdays. So don't think that all Irish-Americans or Catholics blindly support Notre Dame.

Like how I don't assume that all Florida fans are criminals, swamp trash and/or jort-wearing NorFla rednecks.

Didn't know 2004 was "ancient history". If you were so familiar with the history you wouldn't have made the joke seeing as it didn't make any sense. Unless you are basically admitting to being an ignorant ass clown and making a joke that made no sense.

I remember the ancient history of the GOP winning the presidency

People support all different teams for all kinds of asinine reasons regardless of age or generation. Notre Dame really isn't an exception. Imean the guy could have chosen Boston College too.

It would be interesting to know who he roots for when they play.

Hell, Wildcard supports Dallas because his step dad used to give him OTPHJ's.

My good friend has a grandfather who loves Fighting Irish football simply because he's Irish-Catholic. So in turn, my friend is a ND fan as well but has neither affiliation to the school.

There's definitely still a portion of the Notre Dame fan base that is there solely due to the religious affiliation. I'm not knocking it, I even understand it -- when I was a kid I used to fill out March Madness pools with all the Catholic and Jesuit schools winning -- just pointing out that it still exists.

No doubt it exists with Notre Dame and every where. People identify with different schools for different reasons. I don't think it makes them any more or less of a fan in the end.

hell one of my friends is a Meechigan fan today for no other reason than he hated Notre Dame growing up so he started rooting for Michigan.
