Well, actually he completed 63.8% of his pass attempts in the two games he played in '07 with the Packers, one in a blizzard and the NFC championship game that was the 3rd coldest game in NFL history. He had 5 TD's to 2 INTs and still had the best efficiency rating of any QB in the playoffs at 99.0%. Saying he didn't do anything in '07 is like saying Aaron Rodgers didn't do anything this season. It wasn't really Favre's fault, the defense didn't show up against the Giants just like they didn't show up against the Cardinals last week.

            1. Kurt Warner- His playoff performances last year and opening this year are astounding. As clutch as it gets.

            2. Brett Favre- Was the Kurt Warner of the mid-90s, has shown a lot more over his career in the playoffs than Manning has.

            3. Payton Manning- Hasn't done a lot in the post season over his career, but some of that has to be laid at Tom Brady's feet rather than his.

            4. Drew Brees- Has done nothing in the playoffs, but comes in having put up two consecutive dominant regular season performances.

            5. Philip Rivers- I just think the guy's got the right attitude to make things happen in the post season. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, but he could throw 5 TDs, or 5 INTs, and it wouldn't surprise me

            6. Mark Sanchez- Jumping the gun having him this high? Sure, but his one game was better than all of Flacco's last year, even if they were all 5 yard dump offs. Maybe the kind of guy who thrives in this environment, we'll see.

            7. Tony Romo- The guy's just too think skinned for the playoffs. If he wins in Minnesota, I'll give him his due, but I'm going to withhold praise for now.

            8. Joe Flacco- Has yet to do anything really impressive in his career beyond benefit from a great defense. I like him, hope he turns out great, but he's proven zero at this point.

Great comparison! The Packers defense gave up 45 points to the Cardinals and Aaron Rodgers had 422 yards and 4 TDs and 1 INT in a losing effort. In 2007, the Packers gave up 23 points to the Giants and Favre had 236 yards 2 TDs and 2 INTs. So, in 2007, the Packers defense gave up half as many points, Favre threw for half as many yards and TDs, and had twice the INTs...yet its the same thing!

Factoring in 65° and sunny for the game in Arizona and -13° and windy in Green Bay for the two teams combined with the fact that Favre actually had better stats than Manning that game, I would say yes, it is a fair comparison because it was the defense more than the offense that cost their team the game. The Packers defense allowed the Giants to make numerous sustained drives which ultimately cost the team the game. The Giants kicker also missed 2 FG attempts to end regulation that would have kept the game from going to OT in the first place.

                Time of possession:
                Giants - 40:01
                Packers - 22:34

You are also ignoring the fact that both Favre and Rodgers had two turnovers in their respective games for the Packers. Just because Rodgers game losing turnover was scored as a fumble instead of an INT, it was still a direct turnover on his behalf that cost his team the game.

Game summary of the New York Giants vs. Green Bay Packers NFL game, final score 23-20, from January 20, 2008 on ESPN.

Uh, what game were you watching on January 20, 2008? It couldn't have been the Packers-Giants game. Of those "numerous" sustained drives the Giants had, only 2 were over 60 yards in length, and one of those drives ended in a FG anyway. So your point has been blown out of the water on one count. Throw in the fact that the only Packer "drive" of 40+ yards was a one-play, 90 yard TD pass to Donald Driver, and I think you can understand how the TOP was skewed to the Giants.

In that game, Brett Favre and the Packers had 12 possessions. Of those 12 possessions, SEVEN WERE OF THREE PLAYS OR LESS!!!

Brett cost the packers in the giants game by throwing it up where no packers was close to on like the 1st play of OT...Just like he did against the eagles in the 4th and 26 game... how many playoff games does Brett have 4+ int this last decade? 3-4?
