I've never understood why fans get so defensive when someone points out their team running up the score. It happened there's no use in denying or downplaying it.

Instead of trying to point out other teams doing it or make an excuse just say "I like watching Favre throw touchdowns," or "Yeah they ran the score up, fuck the Cowboys." That'd be a lot more honest and acceptable.

I would actually have more respect for Favre had he done that.

Instead he tried to justify it by comparing it to a FG from 13 years ago.

I really like Brookings, but you just have to keep your mouth shut and wait for next year.. Was it classless? Yes, but they have MR.Egotistical Brett Favre calling the shots so what do you expect.

BC: Hey Brett lets just run out the clock here, ok?
BF:Fuck off retard this is my team. go back and stand where I told you to stand.
                BC:ok Mr. Favre
BF:IF we win the Championship I may let you coach here next yr
                BC:REALLY?
BF:NO! Now go stand in your Spot.

Exactly. Remember this beating, and pay them back next season. This is the NFL, not college. If teams want to run up the score, so be it.

Funny no one in this thread has said it was classless, yet two years ago the MM world was up in storm because the big bad Patriots kept their starters in the third quarter up 30 or 40.

Yeah, but they were scoring TDs to reach 50 pts, not 27. Huge difference between what the Pats were doing that year, which was bombing it in the 2nd half game-in and game-out, whether it was to get Brady more stats, or get back at people for spy gate, or whatever, and what the Vikings did. Going for it one time from the 3 yard line, to reach 27 points, pales in comparison to 16 games of douche behavior. At least IMO.

Were the Patriots opponents calling timeouts late in the 4th quarter to stop the clock and force the Patriots to keep running plays to get another first down?

On a somewhat related note...according to my physics calculations Visanthe Shiancoe should have died from internal bleeding after his diving TD catch. I'm surprised no one has mentioned how Shiancoe "cheated death" on that play.

Even more amazing considering the throw was made by the 6th best QB in the divisional round. I mean, if Kurt Warner, Tomy Romo or Phillip Rivers had thrown the ball he would not have even had to stretch and risk his life.

Not so amazing when you consider the 8th best QB in the divisional round also won his playoff game. What is amazing is that Shiancoe hit the ground WITH THE FORCE OF HIS BODY WEIGHT and he lived to tell about it. Good thing he was wearing all that padding.
