Not so amazing when you consider the 8th best QB in the divisional round also won his playoff game. What is amazing is that Shiancoe hit the ground WITH THE FORCE OF HIS BODY WEIGHT and he lived to tell about it. Good thing he was wearing all that padding.

In fairness, you could have been the 8th best QB in the divisional round (see Dilfer, Trent). Shiancoe's life was likely spared due to the ball acting somewhat like an airbag and preventing damage to his internal organs.

In most recent postseason games, it appeared that Brett Favre was throwing an airbag instead of a football, so your theory has merit.

Were the Patriots opponents calling timeouts late in the 4th quarter to stop the clock and force the Patriots to keep running plays to get another first down?

The Patriots called off the air brigade every game before the end of the game.

The Patriots ran up the score in the third quarter, and occasionally early in the 4th. People in this thread were saying it's the defenses job to stop the Vikings late in the game, yet it's not the defenses job to stop the Patriots in the 3rd and early 4th?

I'm talking more about the fact that the Cowboys called 3 straight time outs with a few minutes left in the 4th quarter sending the message to the Vikings that they were still playing even though they were down 27-3. So the Vikings kept playing.

I seriously doubt that any team was calling 3 straight timeouts late in the 4th when the Patriots were up by >15 points and trying to run out the clock. If they would have, I'm sure the Patriots would have kept on playing...just like the Vikings did on Sunday.

Dallas had it coming because they dared to stop the clock with 6 and a half minutes in the game.

They also had it coming because of a FG from 13 years ago.

No, of course not. It was the redskins, we were begging for them to just let the clock run out. Hell, we were even running the ball the entire second half to get the game over with. That's the difference.
