If the Vikings win the Super Bowl - is Favre the G.O.A.T?

I think some of you are forgetting how good Favre has been throughout his entire career.

In 18 seasons as a starter, he has missed 2 games. Say whatever you want about him being selfish or whatever, but that is unfuckingbelievable.

In those 18 seasons, Favre has only thrown more interceptions than touchdowns 3 times.

Most of all, he has had 1 losing season in his entire career.

To completely deny him into the discussion is absolutely ridiculous and totally personal.

I love how QB's are the only players who get wins

There are QBs like Trent Dilfer - who are career journeymen that hover around .500 for their entire careers and then get lucky and win a Super Bowl one year because of the team they are on.

Then there are QBs like Favre and Manning, who year in and year out over the course of two decades, have one season where their team goes below .500.

The QB position is the most important link to wins because if you consistently have a good quarterback, you are going to consistently win more football games then you lose. That's a fact.

I just can't rank Favre top 5 with his late game horrible decision making. Just go through this decade and look at his playoff games..

2001 vs. Rams in the Divisional Playoffs: 6 interceptions. Possibly the worst playoff performance of all time.

2003 vs. Eagles in the Divisional Playoffs: Brett Favre throws a game bomb 50 yards down the field and Brian Dawkins intercepts it and returns it and sets us up for a 40 yard fieldgoal or so attempt. Noone within 10 yards of the ball but Eagles.

2004 vs. Vikings Wild Card Playoffs: Brett Favre throws 4 interceptions against the Vikings. This was after he beat them twice in the regular season, at home.

2007 NFC Championship game vs. the Giants: Brett Favre throws an interception at the end of the 4th that was fumbled by McQuarters (luckily) and then he goes into OT and throws an interception to Webster to lose the championship game.

2008 vs. Dolphins final game of the regular season to get into the playoffs: Throws 3 interceptions and plays just down right awful.

This is just this decade..

Just a small sample, since I am guessing you are too young to remember just how good Favre was in his prime.. or you're just basing all this BS off of last year when he played practically one-armed for half the season.

Say what you will about his retirement drama and his ego.. I agree.. the guys act was tired, but when it comes to greatness at that position? He's as good as all the greats, and in many cases.. was better.

Favre is on a mission to win the Superbowl. The man feeds off of being slighted and having the best season of his career followed by the media fawning over Manning for MVP just stoked the fire a little more. Don't look now but he is the highest rated QB in the postseason right now....107.7 in the regular season and 134.4 in the postseason.

LOL at the irony of this if Brett's ass feels slighted by the media or in general after the circle jerk and ookie cookie the media has held for him each of the last two seasons with his retire/unretire drama. Manning's MVP got 1/1000th of the coverage that Favre got this season alone with his shit.

If he wins this year...With his 2 rings, and his MVP's he belongs in the discussion no doubt, and would be top 3 easily. But talent wise I think Manning will be the best ever when he retires.
