I don't understand this logic at all. Mason, Bryant, and possibly Chambers and Curry could be #1's. The Bears WRs right now are far from mediocre...they are the worst set of WRs in modern NFL history. If you disagree, then explain how a DB has led the team in receptions the past two years.

Martz has proven that all you need to be is "competent" as a WR and his offense can produce.

Obviously their wideouts are terrible--that's why they need some and we are talking about it. Curry, Chambers, and Bryant are not true #1s. Mason, sure..but he's old.

What I'm trying to say is that adding these mediocre receivers behind a pedestrian oline and pathetic running game will not help at all.

Thats a plausible opinion. Last year the Bears added a mediocre QB to a pedestrian oline and pathetic running game, and that didn't really help either.

I just don't see this working at all. I think Martz quits by week 3. Mark Bulger may not have had Cutler's talent but he never told the media he could throw the ball harder than John Elway either.

I mean, I agree it's not the biggest problem, but having at least one guy that knows how to run routes and fight through defenders would help... at least a little.

Yeah it will, but to what extent? I just don't think it'd be worth it to invest in ANOTHER mediocre receiver..That's all the bears will have had and will ever have. Some examples..Owens in Buffalo, Holt in Jacksonville, i'm sure there are more examples but i'm not gonna waste my time and dig for them.

It's just not worth the money to go after receivers when the other pieces of the puzzle are not there.
