Look for Steeljake to commit suicide if this happens.

The NFL is the only thing this sad excuse for a human being looks forward to in his life. Seriously... this guy has nothing. Not having the NFL might off him.

If the NFL is out then that other random shitty football league will jump all over Sundays, or at least try to I'd imagine. Grabbing any NFL FA that wants some money.

        Could be interesting.

Rex Grossman could once again become a starting QB on a professional football team!

            Lockout Would Be Calamitous

^ Good article by Dan Wetzel on the potential affect of a lockout. Negotiation will get ugly, but I'm sure it all comes together. I'm sure it will be a last minute thing, and the league will have to concede some things to the players association.

Am I wrong for feeling this will get resolved?

I just feel that this is nothing but posturing by both sides and that like most labor disputes that are "on the horizon" the owners and the NFLPA will get together at the last minute and hammer out a deal that, while it may not make everyone happy, will keep the game going?

I think everyone on both sides can agree that revenue sharing is dead, rookie contracts are out of control, and that the salary cap is about to die.

I think the players do end up taking pay cuts, but that there will be other concessions.

Even if this did happen, I still don't think it would kill the NFL. Also, fuck these guys for being so greedy, none of them have miles and miles of heart...

I saw this. The NFL better do something about this or else there will be no Madden 12

So EA would have two years to develop a football game? Holy shit, the lock these motherfuckers outs, we may actually get a playable Madden game.

Obama should set up a commission to look into the NFL as he did with college football

The owners want players to take like an 18.5% pay cut in the money that is allocated to them...and of course the players think that is absolutely ridiculous.

Assuming they actually have 59% of the revenue and owners want to change this to 41%, they lose 18% of the cake they usually shared, but it represents a net loss of 30% (they lose 18 from 59, 18/59).

If all signs point to no football in 2011, I guess we won't have a 2011 draft... Does that mean there'll be a 15 rounds 2012 draft?

More seriously, I guess it will likely be a 7-8 rounds draft loaded with all the talent from 2011 and 2012.

I heard that there would still be an NFL draft even if there is a lockout.
