First rule of Mock Drafting is "Don't take yourself seriously."...nobody knows anything...not even NFL personnel men (every team in the league drafts players that are bums before their rookie contracts are up)...not until these guys get their asses into camp and actually playing. Most players success is determined by what team they go to in the first place and there are only a few players in each draft that you can say with some kind of certainty that they'll succeed.

Until then, its all opinion, meaningless conjecture, and stuff to do for fun...especially Mocks, which are all complete garbage.

The only two mocks I take even remotely serious are the ones done the Friday before the draft...typically Scott Wright's and Rich Gosselin's, they just tend to be the most accurate in an non-accurate business.

With that said, lighten up, Francis.

I am lightened, and I agree mock's for the most part are garbage, I think last year I only got 11 or so picks right, and the so called experts usually get even less lmao But A lot of people do it for fun, for speculation during a down time in the NFL. I said right off the rip that I'm not an expert, obviously, it was my guess on how things could go.

Everybody who puts pick summaries in their mocks has information and evaluation of a player, should I make up some fictional content on a player just because you saw a scout somewhere say that they had good work ethic, or they reminded them of a player? Am I not allowed to say something about a player because somebody else in the world happened to say something similar?
No, the point is that you're full of shit. You "watched film' on the players. You don't even know what the fuck you are watching. You don't know the defensive call. You don't know the technique they were coached. You wouldn't even know what that meant if you were told.

Let alone know how that translates to what each NFL team does.

You're just babbling the same cliche'd shit you've read everywhere else "Oh, he's explosive" or "he can collapse the pocket," changing the order, based on absolutely nothing since you have no idea what any particular team is looking for, and posting it to act like some guru.

Do you even realize how many games it would take to make a decent mock? Even if you were spotted the 60 hottest prospects (reasonable), you would need to watch at minimum 3 games from each player (coaches cutup, not TV film, that shit's worthless for evaluations)...that's 180 games. You could then reasonably rank those players.

Then you would need ot watch 5 games, or so, of each NFL team to figure out what they do so you know which players fit which teams. That's another 150 games.

Assuming you can watch a cutup in about 15 minutes (with rewinds) you can probably knockout those 330 games in 88 hours to make a rough mock draft (assuming every team is going BPA, with no trades).

Then I'll give a rats ass about your mock.

Beer, you're a good guy and this is a solid mock, but you're way too sensitive to post mocks at VSN.
The second the masses sense any weakness, your feelings are in for a world of hurt.
You have to remember - you have 32 teams' fans to satisfy.
          Not possible.
          Ever.

I would never be serious about posting a mock here.

You're better off throwing yourself into a wood chipper. Less painful.

Or, you can just do what Rich Gosselin does and call up his contacts at each NFL team and get at best 1/3 of the picks correct, max, in any given year, which is good for the best mock draft on the interwebz.

            Whichever is easier.

And, you don't need to be able to deconstruct an A-Bomb to know who and what a first round pick is...its not that difficult, Sven. Scouts, who tend to go in "blind" moreover than most could pick out the studs just going to practice and watching them for a day.

btw - I saw the Dolphins team mock draft (all NFL teams do their homework and create a mock)...was it...two seasons ago? It was way after the draft. But, I lol'd at it.

lol I'm not getting sensitive about it, I'm replying to what people are saying, it's keeping the thread active. I see what your saying, and I don't make a mock to satisfy anybody, I make it because I'm an NFL fan, its the offseason, and I'm not really hardcore about the other sports going on right now. Every mock gets extreme criticism, always will, because unless you work for a team and have an inside source nobody has any clue who wants what or who will take what. Not a single person here is an expert and neither am I.

Sure, if you have NFL contacts (what keeps Maycock and co. in bussiness).

Just don't write-up your own evaluations of players and act like it was done through independent research. "Of course we said the same things, we watched the same film." No you didn't. You read everbodies shit and re-posted the stuff that was already posted, or you simply made shit up.
Either way, you didn't spend days grading film to come out with this mock.

Your analysis' are just copied bullshit from other sites. It's not original and the fact that you tried to pass it off as "Oh we just have the same ideas" when you essentially just paraphrased what they said is laughable.

The only thing that could have made your evaluations more lame or cliche is if you referred to a white defensive lineman as having a "high motor".

You should have done a works cited page for this awful draft. MLA or APA accepted.

How different can player comparisons possibly be though? Players are all unique, the comparisons are a generalization, the guys I compared to were the first to come to mind to me, and most likely the first to come to mind for most people.
