Can you name me a 320 lb. 3-4 end in the league? Oh yeah, there isn't one.

He is no where near fast enough or good enough to play an OLB in the 3-4 defense in the NFL. If they start him anywhere, it will be at DE.

He's already tried it once in his career and it didn't fit. What are you not getting about that? It's not like he's never played the position so no one knows if he will be good. He has played the position and was no where near as effective as he is on the line.

Worst comes to worst they release him, but I can almost guaruntee you that if they use him at OLB, he will become one of the biggest holes in this defense.

Maybe you should look up his stats then because you're obviously not understanding that he was a failure at OLB

Not to mention he was faster in his younger days than he is now

            Kentwan Balmer is 315
            Isaac Sopaga is 330.

Generally as a 3-4 end you want to be anywhere from at least 280 to 320.

He has never played as a 3-4 DE in his career and he is not a 2 gapping defensive lineman. You obviously know nothing about the 3-4 defense. I'm not saying he'll be any good as a 3-4 OLB but I'm saying thats the only place he can realistically contribute in the defense.

I also didn't directly say 320 is what you wanna be. When i started talking i didn't google Andre Carter to find his playing weight. I assumed he was around 240, he's in the mid 250's. But, yes, anywhere from 280-320 is usually how big a 3-4 end is. A 5 technique de is not gonna easily convert to a 2 gapping 3-4 end.

Am I the only one here who believes Haynesworth on the outside would produce nothing but horrible results?
                  Probably.

He's huge, extremely athletic, strong, and has crazy quicks for such a big guy. I think he could play anywhere on the 3-4 line.

Haloti Ngata plays 3-4 end and he is 360 pounds. Haynesworth is a tremendous pass rusher who i think could do well in a 3-4 scheme where he plays end. He will be what Shaun Rogers will be in Clevelandthis year, that guy in the 3-4 set that collapses the pocket and gets pressures. Sure he wont be on every snap and he probably wont try every snap but it could work if his head is there.

I also think haynesworth would prefer to play end in a 3-4 scheme as he could rush the passer as oppose to just holding up two offensive lineman.

You all have to remember this is the Washington Redskins. Nobody plays to their full potential on the redskins.

I stand by my statement that Haynesworth on the end will produce nothing but horrible results

If Haynesworth and Kemoeatu can even come close to replicating what Sam Adams and Tony Siragusa did the Redskins should be tough to run the ball against.
They were already top10 in the league against the run, which is why I don't understand why they are trying to fix the only part of their game that is fine.

They might have just done this so they don't lose anything for the two plays every 4 downs that Fat Albert can't play, the oline wont get a rest if you got Fat Al and Kemo rotating in at you all game
