If you've been following along, which apparently you haven't been, you'd know that Mcdaniels success, or lack of, on the field, is what matters to me. Last year he had an average year, and he needs to get better (but you wouldn't know that because you aren't ever around). Despite all of his questionable moves at best, he still produced a team, on the field, that was no loess than Shanahan's last 3 years, and actually better than Shanahan + Cutler.

Shanahan + Cutler = 17-20

He also got an 8-8 season out of considerably less talent than Shanahan, and players that don't even fit his system. I'm certainly not going to criticize a head coach that went 0-0. I expect better from a guy that went 8-8. I've said countless of times that next year better be a progression.

I criticized McDaniels at the draft last year. I criticized him for not playing Peyton Hillis more this year. I hated on KnowGain Moreno all year. I've done nothing but been critical of him since our mid season collapse last year, but apparently you don't catch on to those things.

I simply stated it was a great trade, to trade a RB that was #3/#4 on the depth chart, a 6th round pick, and a 4th round pick (at best for Cleveland), to at the very least shore up Denver's backup QB position, and get a first round talent who's only 25 years old and has been among the worst QB coaches, and most inept offense in the NFL since he came in. If you honestly think Chrissy Simms is better, you need your head examined.

And you need to pull Orton's dick out of your mouth. You've been on the "fainting goat" since last year, and quite frankly I'm surprised you can't see how inept he is at making plays. He's the kind of QB that "won't lose you any games", but he certainly doesn't do a whole lot to win when the system breaks down.

You seem to garnish a lot of your respect for McDaniels for what he's done "on the Field" and even have gone as far as saying he has an "amazing football IQ." I have news for you every head coach in the NFL has an amazing work ethic and football IQ. When I read between the lines it seems like you think he's above most coaches. Going 6-0 was impressive, I'll give you that, but when you look at his body of work IMO it tells a whole other story.

#1 Try and pull the trigger on starting Pro Bowl QB and miss. (Cutler)

#2 Trade a top 15 pick for a 2nd round reach. (Smith)

#3 Talk up your new starting QB, then give up on him a year later. (Orton)

#4 Bench some of your best players because you don't like them for whatever reason. (Hillis) (Marshall)

#5 Pretty much show your DC, that turned your D around, the door because you want complete control of ever thing. (Nolan)

#6 Helm the biggest breakdown in Broncos history. The previous guy got fired for less. (2-6)

How can you say McD's season was better the Shanahan's final year... They had pretty much the same talent minus Cutler, but that was McD's choice. Everyone McD got rid of was because he didn't want them, so to say he had less talent is not a good excuse. He inherited Shanahan's team, so they started off on the same ground IMO. A 2-6 collapse ending with a divided locker room is worse then going 4-4 to end the year.
