Here is my yearly rant on this type of topic:

None of you m'fers are qualified to judge OL performance on this scale.

You probably aren't qualified to give a blow job, but I can still tell you to choke on a cock.

I am still LOLing at your "on this scale" comment...as if we have high standards of correctness here in the VSN NFL/NCAA forum. We have multiple threads on Tim Tebow's jersey sales, Tim Tebow's endorsement deals, Tim Tebow's alleged girlfriend, etc., so I think the standards are set pretty low.

I meant more along the lines of comparing the LG play of 120 different players.

Its like when guys post All Pro teams. Do they really think Brad Meester was the best C in the AFC, or was it the first guy with a good rep they could think of? Something tells me Nahste isn't breaking down film of Lee Ziemba.

I think its much easier in the NFL...fewer players, easier to watch most of the games, and the players don't change all that much.

I agree that college OL 'grading' is nearly impossible. I just tried to pick guys that I've seen play. If they have a cool name, like "Loadholt" or "Meester", thats a plus, too.

The same could be said for most discussions related to X's and O's or breakdowns of certain players or positions. I've always found it funny when guys breakdown NFL defenses or how highschool recuits "fit" on their favorite team. For the most part fans don't know what they're talking about and most of their formed opinion comes from media people.

                  QB: Case Keenum
                  RB: Mark Ingram
                  RB: Dion Lewis
                  WR: Michael Floyd
                  WR: AJ Green
                  TE: Kyle Rudolph
                  OL: Gabe Carimi
                  OL: Jake Kirkpatrick
                  OL: Mike Pouncey
                  OL: Stefen Wisniewski
                  OL: Rodney Hudson

                  DL: Daquan Bowers
                  DL: Allen Bailey
                  DL: Marvin Austin
                  DL: Greg Romeus
                  LB: Quan Sturdivant
                  LB: Greg Jones
                  LB: Casey Matthews
                  DB: Patrick Peterson
                  DB: Prince Amukamara
                  S: Mark Barron
                  S: Rahim Moore

A lot of my defense is kind of a stretch pick so don't take any of those with much value.

I would make a case for Michael Floyd to be higher in some of your lists, but I don't want to bore you guys with any ND homerism I could spew out.

Better tell elmo about this. He argued with me for about an hour the other night talking about Chekwa > Peterson. We know that isn't true, but it was nice to see a Buckeye showing some respect to the best corner in the country

Ziemba's one of the guys on the list I've spent the most time watching, considering he's been a starter since he was a freshman and LSU plays AU every year. He's the assfuck who took out Glenn Dorsey's knee in 2007.

But I get your point, and yeah, I don't watch OL play every time I'm watching a game, but I'm not making my list from a scouts' perspective. This is more of a who's who list to be compiled and dissected by fans of the game. It's purely for discussion generating purposes.

I'm not the least bit interested in where any of these players get drafted. I just wanted to make a list of guys I am aware of going into the season, based on what I've seen and read. No, I haven't broken down and graded hours of game film on any of these guys, but I tried not to include anyone I haven't read about or seen play at least a few times.

Bingo. Most people don't know the first thing about assessing talent. Most the people here are going off of media and limited film, but my question is who cares?

If I have seen Von Miller play in a few games and think he is an amazing player then why not put him on this list? Is there somebody better out there? Maybe. but we won't know until the season plays out and as a fan he is the best I've seen.

Chekwa isn't even the best corner on his own team right now.
