      Hakeem who? Nicks?

Anyway I respect him for it, but don't agree with it because personally I can't go an hour w/o snackin on something.

Childress said that he was a little weak early in September, but obviously he wasn't weak enough to be cut or dopped in the depth chart, and he was back to full strength later on in the month to make an impact. So is he forcing or requesting his teammates to pray with him? Or does he preach to them? Does he judge his teammates of a different faith? Doesn't sound like it, but the vikings decided to move his meals up and later in the day, which is usually an hour to hour and a half difference depending on when the sun rises and sets during the day.

I have had friends who are athletes who do practice Islam, and its really not that big of a deal to customize the meal schedule for them for the HS/college.

Husain and his brother Hamza did it last year too. Husain will be fine, he's been doing it since he was 7, played football in High School in Pomona when it's 90-100 degrees, and played 5 years at Wazzu while doing this. I think he knows what he's doing.

LOL..........my bad. Well just say Dream next time!

Anyway, yea like I said earlier, no big deal really. Shitload less logistics and expenses involved in this for the team than having the dumbass get arrested for beatin his girlfriend or driving around with unlicensed weps.

As others have said, this has been done before.

I used to fast when I was a kid. I did it through freshman year of HS during double days as well.

It's not that hard when you are used to doing it and if Ramadan is during the fall/winter (which is when I did it).

Doing it through the dog days of summer during football sounds dreadful, though.

lol @ people wishing death or sickness upon this guy for fasting. The sole purpose of fasting in Islam is to help people relate to how the poor feel, so that they are grateful for everything they have and to humble them and encourage charity. People can also be excused from fasting for a number of reasons (traveling, sick). I'm sure they will be monitoring Husain very closely each day.

That's a good reason. I wish we could force all rich people to do this so they could have a fucking clue what it's like to not be privileged.
