The greatest WR of all time?

One of the most convoluted debates of all time - the GOAT at the wideout position. The obvious pick is Jerry Rice. He retired after 21 years of greatness, setting multiple records along the way, winning three Super Bowls and an SBMVP trophy.

    But, what about the rest?

Who can compete for the throne?

Don Hutson? Who dominated alike Jim Brown in an era before the pass was relevant?

Don Maynard? The key to much of Broadway Joe's success.

Randy Moss? Who has elevated the play of every quarterback he's played with?

T.O.? The lockerroom cancer future hall-of-famer?

Fred Biletnikoff? Half the reason stickem's illegal?

Larry Fitzgerald? Who indubitably has a few more years before he's really in the discussion...

Who do y'all think are the best wide receivers of all time?

Lol@TO being mentioned as the best ever, when he was never even the best during his era. ESPN is a powerful influence on today's sports fans.

Don Hutson. Because he was a Packer... and because he kicked, and played safety as well.

Lance Alworth, Steve Largent, Cris Carter, Art Monk, Paul Warfield and Marvin Harrison are all better WR's than the ones listed (save for Rice, of course)...

But this case its not subjective. There can only be one answer. It would be like asking "who is the greatest singer to emerge from the Jackson 5?", and trying to make a case for Tito. You can get cute and argue Hutson, but that's it. Any other answer is bordeline retarded.

                    Rice. End of story.

There is absolutely no question who is the best ever. Jerry Rice. It's not even worth questioning.

                          just to bullshit,

I think Moss could have taken Jerry's spot if he had the work ethic, but he doesn't, and that's why he can't.

Who's the 2nd best WO of all time?

Clearly. But I just picked random guys who had good numbers from the modern era. I don't think anybody but T.O. thinks he's the greatest ever.

Biletnikoff is just there for the homer pick.

I figure if you can argue QBs, you can argue this.

(Btw, my bad for forgetting Lynn Swann, Chris Carter... Marvin Harrison, Andre Reed... etc... It was 2 in the morning, but that's no excuse.)

Tim Brown for the second greatest receiver of all time... OF ALL TIME!

He put up great numbers despite having guys like Jay Schreoder (?) and Jeff Hostetler throw to him. The one year he got an OK QB in Jeff George he led the league in receptions. By the time Gannon came around Tim Browns career was coming to an end. If he had Joe Montana and Steve Young throwing to him maybe we'd be talking about Tim Brown being number one.

... But, yeah, Rice is the greatest receiver of all time.
