I didn't say he's great, but teams could do a lot worse than Kyle Orton.
And this is simply a two-year bridge while they find out if Tim Tebow can be the face of the franchise.
    IMO, Tebow will do it.
The guy's work ethic and character are off the charts and he's been a winner at every level.

I think you're being a bit hard on Orton, Warner.

See, I dont think you can do much worse. I think Orton is as bad as you can get with a starting QB.

I like Tebow, I think he'll carve a niche, but paying $9M for a dime-a-dozen guy like Orton to be the placesitter is terrible money management. You can get any number of scrubs (David Carr, Ryan Fitzpatrick, et al) who can give you what Orton gives you, and go 7-9 with at a fraction of the cost. It makes no sense.

I always hated what happened to David Carr in Houston.
Maybe I have a soft spot in my heart for him because I had the Texans in a Madden league, but I always thought Carr had the tools, but the Texans let him down with one of the worst offensive lines in NFL history.
Yeah, he had a bit of a goofy throwing motion, but with the right team from day one, I think Carr would have been a damn good NFL QB.

Looks like this holds off Tebow Era.

Orton is a reliable Pro QB. Evry Pro scout says as much.

He is just considered a -sell- in Fantasy league terms.....

Above is the career Completion % & QB Rating of 6 current NFL QB's:

              Kyle Orton
              David Carr
              Ryan Fitzpatrick
              Alex Smith
              JP Losman
              Trent Edwards

Can you match the stats to the QB? All 6 of these guys have had incredibly similar careers, in both size & scope. They are all fringe starters, and none of them would be considered "reliable pro QB's". Orton is no better than these bums, he's in the same class. These QB's are best served as backups, and if they are starting for your team, you are likely going nowhere.

...and none of them deserve $9M per year.

while wouldnt defend those guys as great, i dont care about QB rating on the whole. Theres too many factors it cant involve.

Orton- 21 TDs and 3,800 yards last year is nothing to sneeze at

While I agree that QB Rating has its flaws, it does paint a picture and I used it to illustrate the class of QB Orton is a part of.

Orton had a nice statistical season, but anyone who watched him without homer glasses knows he wasnt as good as those stats. His team started 6-0 (mostly smoke & mirrors) and missed the playoffs. What else needs to be said?

And say what you want about QB Rating, but nobody in this era with a QB Rating in the high 60 to mid 70 range is anything more than a fringe starter.

what more needs to be said? the other 10/21 guys can be just as much to blame in the multiple, instantaneous situations that happened on the field.

Like they say- The QB gets too much blame and or praise. The team on the whole is considered old at this point. Cutler probably left at the right time haha

QB rating aside 57% completion isn't gunna cut it.
