Instead of just flat out fining and suspending players, why not set up a system like the technical fouls in the NBA or a card system like in soccer?
If the hit is a here and there, perhaps unintentional helmet-to-helmet hit, it should count as a technical/yellow card. Should it happen again, that's an ejection.
If the hit is a very violent, blatant head-to-head hit it should count as a double technical/red card and immediate injection.
If the NFL wants to add fines to that, they can. After a certain amount of technicals, it should count as a game suspension.
I think that this makes a lot more sense than what I've hear about proposing four game suspensions. I mean, if the NFL is actually going to take action on it, this is the only method that makes some sense to me. Anyone else got any ideas? Thoughts?
