Guys like that will require player personnel control.

If Jones was serious about winning (and I actually think he is), he'd just concede it's time to bring in a mastermind and give up his GM job.

All four of the above would be excellent choices. I'd miss Gruden on MNF (I like him).

At the end of the day, if I were Jones I'd likely go Dungy. That said, Holmgren or Cowher wouldn't exactly be bad consolation prizes.

Yeah, I don't see the appeal with Dungy or Cowher. I understand the both of them won a SB and abruptly retired, but it seems to me their absence from the game has caused people to overrate their value. They're both good coaches, but it's not as if they organizations they left declined in their absence. The both of them where beneficiaries of playing in well run organizations.

^Not to mention Cowher was known as a playoff stinker up until he won the SB..

I believe no HUGE name coach such as Cowher, Dungy, or Gruden will go to the Boys just because of Jerry Jones and his power just like you saw it didn't work out with Parcells.

If they dont respect you ,you can scream until your throat pops wont make a difference.
Remember that PM I sent you a couple months back? He may not be liked, but he is respected in the lockerroom. And the quarterback falls under both categories. As far as not running the ball enough, take a look at that offensive line with its 2.6 YPC average. For all the skill on that offense, they are handicapped by those guys. Have been for 3 years.
            2. If he wanted to right the ship he would have benched Barber and given Choice more carries and be smart enough to know his playcalling was hurting the team on both sides.
I agree with this wholeheartedly. I'm very interested to see how much burn Choice gets against NY.
            3. If Jerry was such a bad GM the Cowboys wouldnt be as "talented" as to be such a disappointment. The team is stocked with talent. If a coach is too much of a pansy to get Jones out of the way honestly its on the coach. Jimmy and Bill both managed to do it so it can obviously be done. IMO if its not worth the trouble of doing then its not worth the trouble of coaching.
Again, why has the line been neglected after it was obvious to everyone for three years that it was overrated (100% due to Romo making chicken salad out of chicken shit), old and falling off? What did he do to address it? Robert Brewster and Sam Young? The only reason Free got an opportunity was because of Columbo's broken leg.

Jerry is, and always has been about, flash. The neglect of both lines is on him and only him. We'll draft Patrick Peterson with that nice Top 5 pick. Watch.

IMO Peterson would be a good pick for the Cowboys. The Cowboys have had issues in their secondary and you couple that with the fact that within the division you have Hakeem Nix, DeSean Jackson, etc than Peterson makes a good fit. Scandrick isn't much to talk about, Mike Jenkins has had issues this year and Terence Newman is getting up in age. Peterson is a special, special talent.

Agreed. I know we need help at OL but we also need a shit ton of help in the secondary. Scandrick sucks, I have been saying it since early last year. Jenkins can't get his head out of his ass and Newman is beginning to age. I don't see how we pass on Peterson if he gets to us, which at this rate he will only have to get by 2 teams.

Look at how bad the technique of those two has been this year. Then look at who's responsible for coaching them.

I think Jenkins and Scandrick can be salvaged. But that can't happen until Bozo the clown gets his walking papers for a second time.

Look how good he was last year. The talent is most assuredly there. His techniquw this year is night and day.

Same for Scandrick, look at all the plays he's been burned on, what's the constant? He's not playing the ball at all. He never sees it coming and is constantly out of position because of it.

First change of Jason Garrett era: players in full pads in practice. Wade Phillips had them in shoulder pads and shorts.

Saw that a bit ago. They have not practiced in pads since the abomination that was training camp.

It validates me a bit, but it also disgusts me. Wade said they went "back to basics" last week.

You don't get any more basic than knowing how to tackle.

2nd change, the head coach is actually watching special teams practice instead of getting his morning workout.
