I still have Vick in the lead over Rivers in this one. I also have Brady over Rivers.

It's funny how Rivers is in the discussion before his team is even leading what was supposed to be a weak division.

You can't argue Rivers numbers, they are incredible.

After they win the division and people forget they started so poorly, I think he has a legitimate chance. Numbers are great, not the favorite, but in the running.

it is between vick and rivers. most likely it will be rivers for two reason, 1 he is white and 2... well there doesnt need to be a second reason does there? as for matt ryan... he is good but if they had another qb they would still have roddy white and gonzo so he is fucked.

Matt Cassel is putting up great numbers and has his team in first place. Should he be in the discussion as well? Hell no.

I understand that people don't believe in KC and expect San Diego to take the division, and that's fine. I'm skeptical myself. But, this isn't week 3. We're 11 games into the year, and Rivers hasn't wrestled the division away from a team that won 6 games combined the last 2 years. What's up with that?

Rivers hasn't been clutch when San Diego needed him.

@ KC...completed 54% of his passes, sacked twice, fumbled twice, lost
                      @ Seattle...completed 55% of his passes, sacked 4 times, 2 INT's, lost
@ St. Louis...completed 59.5% of his passes, sacked 7 times, I INT, lost
@ Oakland...sacked 3 times and fumbled twice, lost
NE...sacked twice, fumbled twice, and threw a pick, lost

He lost to the NFC West twice. He hasn't been able to take care of business on the road against teams he should beat. MVP's should be able to do that.

How many of those games was he throwing to receivers signed from the practice squad?

Yes. It's the most important position.

Who cares? It's the MVP's job to make it happen with whoever's out there.

He lost to 2 teams in the NFC West. There's no excuse.

I think winning a division title would fulfill your criteria of "maiking it happen with whoever is out here.", which he has this team in position to do. Since most people agree San Diego will likely win the division, that puts Rivers in the MVP discussion, with his incredible numbers a minor factor

Plus, most people give KC more respect then you do.

He threw for 450 yards against Seattle, and San Diego's special teams gave up 2 KO returns for TD. I wasn't aware of his kick covereage responsibilities.

Rams game he shit the bed. Considering the rest of his resume, I can look past it.
