    Except you typically get worse as the season goes on, not better. To refresh your memory;

2006 - you start 7-2 yet somehow miss the playoffs.

2008 - 4-1 start. 8-5 with 3 games to play. All you needed was 1 win from 3 to wrap up the division.. You get 1 final chance against San Diego to get that win, you give up 50 points.

    2009 - 6-0. miss the playoffs.

Your record in december since 2006 is 6-13

Damn its sad to say, cause I HATE GOCHARGERS, but even if we beat SD... I would still bet them to win the Division. KC is good but still a year away, Broncos are worthless every other week and the Raiders are like fucking garbage masquerading as a McRib value meal...

This year the NFL west of the Mississippi has been like watching my ass hole the morning after a Vietnamese all you can eat buffet...

Thank god for SEC football and UNLV basketball*.

*How did you like that ass whipping Goblinslyaer, was it like when you read that comic where Batman gets his back broke by Bane, for the first time.

So I'm down by 2 points, my opponent has Moreno and I have Orton.

I fully expect Orton to lay a dud while the Chargers win by 2 TDs and Moreno to get a late garbage TD that will give my opponent the win.

        Chargers 31
        Broncos 17

Figured I'd post this in here instead of making a new thread since this one is pretty much about the AFC West..

I'm torn on if I like Matt Cassel. He has really good numbers this year considering he was a career backup since high school - 59.5% 2074 yards 18TD 4 INT 96.2 QB Rating - but while watching him play you just get the sense that he doesn't believe he should be out there. For all the great passes he's made this year to Bowe, Charles and McCluster, there are these 3 and out drives where he throws it to a guy that is covered in the flats on 3rd on 6+ that just make you scratch your head..

Any quarterback would take those numbers and be happy. Any fan or coordinator would look at that from a 3rd year starter and say to themselves,"He's finally getting it." And maybe it is just so much of a shock to see Kansas City with a quarterback that is efficient and doesn't make too many horrible mistakes (forgetting him holding onto the ball too long in the game vs Denver and getting it stripped and returned for a TD), that I have to think something is wrong here. Maybe we finally found THE guy. Maybe I still hold onto those seasons when we had Montana in the mid-90s, the only time since I've been born that the Chiefs have had a good QB (Trent Green was a redzone nightmare of a QB, don't bring him up please), and put them on too high of a pedestal.

Anyway, the Chiefs are first in the West again thanks to the Oakland Jason Campbell's finally being what we thought they were, so I figured it was time to bring some pessimism back into the conversation. Is Matt Cassel for real or is he just benefiting from an offensive line that has clicked and a spectacular running game? Are those ridiculous 3rd down short throws his fault or just the playcall? Will Jamaal Charles win MVP? I don't know. I'm excited and scared to find out.

He sucks dude. Weis has tailored the offense to his deficiencies as a QB. He holds on to the ball too long, so the passing game is designed to get the ball out quickly. It honestly looks like his reads are pre-determined. If his primary read isn't there, he often panics and freaks out about pressure that sometimes isn't even there. He has major happy feet in the pocket. He looks at the pass rush instead of downfield. His deep ball is horrendous. He's consistently inaccurate. He takes ridiculous sacks instead of throwing the ball away. He throws short of the sticks on 3rd down A LOT. His ball fakes on play action passes don't fool anyone. The Chiefs' passing game should be a lot better with as good as the running game is. Matt Cassel holds the offense back. I have zero confidence in Cassel if the Chiefs make the playoffs.

These are all reasons why I'm not completely sold on him, but taking into account the fact that this is pretty much his 3rd year starting ever in his career, I think he is doing a pretty good job. Any QB that puts up those kind of numbers in the NFL has skill. He isn't perfect by any means. He definitely holds onto the ball too long and at times looks as flustered as a freshman, but he shows flashes of what can be a great NFL quarterback.

                    Hate you.. :kickballs:

With a middle of the pack run defense and a bottom of the league pass defense, I think you should be more eager to see your offense show up.. Your defense isn't going to stop anything..

It'll be nice being able to watch Earl Thomas play though. I was split on who I wanted the Chiefs to draft.. Berry has been fun to watch but Thomas has been awesome this year..

He should be doing a pretty good job. He's 28 and Pioli paid the guy like a franchise QB. I don't think he'll ever be a franchise QB, but he could be a solid game manager. He's not clutch at all.

Jason Hunter had been a nice find again the run and it will allow Haggan to go back to the inside where he has been a great pass rusher which is something he couldn't replicate having to go against tackles on the outside.

If we can get by San Diego and move to 2-1 in the division with our injured guys starting to come back we have as good a shot as anyone.

                            Robert Ayers is inactive.

And the Broncos are about to lose.

I was 6 points off because I have the Broncos too much credit.
