yeah like Shogun, this bothers me. i root for a Big East team and while adding a team like TCu may be good for the conference's prestige, it just doesnt fit.

As it stands, all of their sports teams now have to play East Coast teams two time zones away. Good luck selling that to potential recruits.
Both scenarios that you mentioned were unlikely to happen. And how does this not help with recruiting? Now they can say that they will without a doubt get to play in a BCS bowl if they win the Big East. I don't think recruits won't go to a school because they will have to travel two time zones away.

It's not like the Big East is geographically correct now. Lol at having a school in Tampa, Connecticut and Kentucky. It's like me getting mad about the Big 10 adding Nebraska because they'll have more than 10 teams...even though that was already true.

Also as far as I know there are some barriers stopping TCU from getting into the Big 12 because of Baylor. Good for them joining the BE.

As the 2 time representative from Maryland in the Geography Bee in 7th and 8th grade I cry when stuff like this happens.

I just realized that I was a huge nerd growing up

            TCU basketball is eternally fucked...lol...

I'm not sure how this is going to work out for TCU. They have to travel cross-country practically every other week to play games. They should be in the Big 12 if they want to move up.

having a team in Kentucky is a lot different than a team in Texas. although they already have Marquette which is in Wisconsin so i guess this isnt such a big stretch.

Don't forget to factor in Fresno, Boise St, and Nevada since they will be MWC schools.

                    Fresno St-1542 miles
                    Boise St- 1602 miles
                    Nevada- 1645 miles

Add those schools in and remove Utah and BYU and the average distance is now 1127 miles. Not a huge gap from the Big East distance

Boise has never beat Wazzu in any sport ever. EVER.

This is worse than The University of Denver being in the Sun Belt Conference*...

*DU joins the WAC in 2012.

I get this...but I just dont get this....with Boise and Fresno comin, it wouldnt be the best, but it would be better. Is the Big East gonna ask someone else to join now too?

What's the point on waiting for respect? For whatever reason, the Big East has been arbitrarily named the better conference. TCU has no choice here.
