Best stadium you've ever watched a football

I'm watching this Lombardi documentary on HBO and have decided that I'm going to try my best to make a trip to Lambeau field next season.

It got me thinking, what's the coolest stadium (College and pro) that you've ever been to to watch a football game?

Eventually, I want to plan a trip through the south to catch some of that SEC atmosphere. There are a number of pro stadiums on my list as well.

there is nothing like watching 84,000+ do the tomahawk chop or watching Chief Osceola throwing the flaming spear into the midfield logo at Doak... shit was insane... also, the swamp and lane stadium are overrated...

Tie between Arrowhead, the crowd and the atmosphere was probably the most intense and loudest (in a good way) i've ever been part of, and the RCA dome... because the Colts won.

I've only been to a handful of live football games (San Francisco, Dallas old stadium, Arizona St., Texas Tech), and none of them were jaw-dropping...so I'm gonna go with one of the two MLB games I've seen live. Arizona vs. L.A. Dodgers at Chase Field. That place was amazing.

I feel like I'm missing a couple... I'd have to say Gillette is prob my favorite stadium, prob because I've been there the most. I'd def like to see more SEC games tho, and Lambeau is going to have to be visited soon, I don't go west of the East Coast often tho

I used to take a road trip every year to see the Eagles play a road game.

Kush Stadium - Was there numerous times, unfortunatly not to see Arizona St. It was hot, half empty, and you sat on bleachers. The coolest thing I saw there was when Plummer made his debut in the 2nd quarter of the game. The uncoolest thing was when he brought the Cards back to win the game.

Rich Stadium - Been there twice. Treated better there than in any other city. Great fans, passionate but not douchey. Great tailgate atmosphere. Stadium is nothing special, but the fans make it a special enviornment.

Cowboys Stadium - Been there twice. Treated well there, they really don't take us as seriously as we in Philly take them. I got the sense they hated the Redskins more. The stadium was a shithole, almost as bad as the Vet and thats saying something. Tailgating was okay.

Chargers Stadium- It was okay, nothing really stood out about place that I can remember. We tailgated with a bunch of Charger fans who were state cops. They said the only time the go to the game armed is when the Raiders come in. Than they told a story about this Raiders fan throwing a SD fan off the ledge of Junior Seau's stadium restaraunt onto the walkway 10 feet below. So in closing, I just remember a lot of bitching about Raiders fans.

Arrowhead Stadium - Totally blown away. It was a sight being surrounded by a sea of red. Never seen anything like it. The tailgate was the best I've ever been to. I've never been to Lambaeu, so that was as close to a football religious experience as I have gotten.

Joe Robbie Stadium - As close as I have ever come to knowing what visiting fans that went to the Vet/Linc go through. I had stuff thrown at me, people yelling at me, etc. The topper was they won on a last second field goal. This guy dressed as a fucking dolphin gets 3 inches from my face and flips me off right after they won. I was shocked. Nice stadium, nothing else really stood out though.

Qwest Field and M&T Bank(Baltimore) are the only professional stadiums I've ever watched a game in.

Husky Stadium is a dump. Went to a WSU vs Oregon in Pullman game when I was in the 8th grade. And then the High School state finals a few times at the Tacoma dome. Other than that, I've not been to many stadiums for football.

I enjoyed Heinz of course and the hanging of a tom brady doll during the Pats game this year, despite pittsburgh getting raped i still had a good time

Live football is dreadful. Easily the worst live sport, and probably the only sport that's better on TV. I have free season tickets to a major college football team that plays in a top ten stadium, and I have never bothered to go to a game (I give the tickets away). The Rams went to two SB's in my adult life, and I turned down chances to go to both. TV kills the flow of live football.

I've only seen NFL Football in three stadiums: Ralph Wilson, The Linc and The Vet.

The Vet is obviously the worst of the three, but it had a certain atmosphere that's hard to explain. Always enjoyed games there ... the bathrooms, not so much.

Ralph Wilson Stadium is in the middle of nowhere. I've only been to one Bills' game. It was fun. Bills' fans are very passionate.

The Linc is obviously state of the art, but it's a much different atmosphere than The Vet was. And it's time for the Eagles to update their video scoreboards to HD. All that said, in the game I attended a few weeks ago, I was in the second last row of the stadium (around the 35-yd line) and the sightlines were fantastic.
Beer was a reasonable $7.25 for 16 oz (compared to $11 at the Skydome).

The Linc gets the edge for the sightlines.

Best sports facility I've ever been in was PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Just a beautiful facility, and suffice to say, getting tickets wasn't that difficult.

IMO, the highlight of every live game is the tailgate. The game itself is usually #2.
I don't get to many live games, so I enjoy the ones I attend.

I've never understood that crap. If I go to an Eagles game and someone is wearing a Giants jersey, yes he gets some verbal jabs, but that's it.
Everyone goes to the game for the same reason, to have fun. I don't want people spoiling my fun and I try to show the same respect.

The weirdest thing about Lambeau is that it is in the middle of nowhere. You walk out of your neighborhood and there's the stadium. There are no bad seats in that stadium either. No matter where you are you can see everything. The one negative thing - the benches, especially for cold weather games when everyone is bundled up. Things were tight last week when I was there.

I don't think anything can compare to Lambeau in all honesty. Pregame was great. They actually have huge heated tents in the parking lot with a full bar, food and a band for a little pre game "tailgate". The atmosphere was great. No over the top antics for intros, and a flyover for the National Anthem. The game was pretty good too.

Also, I couldn't believe how many old people go to those games, especially in the cold weather. They must have had their season tickets for years, and it's a way of life. It certainly is a different breed up there.

The Metrodome was a different story. It's in the middle of the city. Had to pay $20 to park in a parking structure (no tailgating allowed - tailgate lots cost like $40 and you had to have a pass). The concourses are so narrow going anywhere during half and after the game was a joke. The one cool thing was how loud that place got. They don't exaggerate when they talk about how loud that place gets.

The pregame antics with team introductions was just so over the top. I can't understand why any dome team thinks its a good idea to have fireworks during the game. And the fans around us didn't seem too passionate about their team (I'll let that one go a bit since after the first quarter they were getting killed) and it seemed from talking to them I knew more about their team than they did.
