        Its all about being a name brand. The Big Ten is the oldest major conference in the nation. There is no way they'd drop/change the name.

        As for people throwing out East/West or North/South with new alignments, it isn't going to happen. The alignments are set, the names aren't. I expect something along the lines of the Midwest and Great Lakes Divisions.
