How about that on side kick?

You can thank your dumb ass DC for nano-blitzing Vick for four straight quarters, single covering Maclin and Jackson all game, and dropping Justin Tuck into coverage. Also thank the kickoff return team for not being ready for an onside kick. Also thank Kenny Phillips for wiffing on a tackle and letting Brett Celek go for 60 yards. And so many more lulworthy mistakes.
Punters don't cause 21 point implosions. Teams do.
However, when you know the situation is that there's about 15 seconds to go and you're told to kick the ball out of bounds to not give DeSean Jackson a chance to return. Matt Dodge pretty much did the exact opposite, especially by LINE DRIVING IT.

Correct. I absolutely blame the defense for that. That's not the punter's fault.

Stop blaming the punter. Bottom line, if you are winning 24-3 at half and 24-10 in the 4th quarter ... it's not your punter's fault.Comment

And lets be honest here guys, Dave Rayner makes that tackle.Comment

Yeah, I know there were 10 other guys on the field, but when DeSean Jackson has time to fumble the ball, take his time picking it up, look up and figure out where he's going to go with the football before actually making the first move, I have to place most of the blame on the punter.
It also doesn't erase the fact that he should have kicked it out of bounds.

Honestly this didn't surprise me in the slightest. I don't know how you can blame Matt Dodge when he only did what he's done the entire season. Not that it should even have come down to this. To blow a 31-10 lead in the 4th quarter is an absolute disgrace that requires a team effort of eregious mistakes.
The Giants stuck with a shaky punter all season and when it came down to a critical play, he fucked up. big surprise. The Giants have had the amazing ability this season to wildly vacillate between world beaters and cellar dwellers.Comment

Exactly. Don't try and blame this on the punter when im sure the Giants would have lost the game anyways had the game gone into overtime with all the momentum going Phillys way.
