i never minded that he wanted to continue to play, I hated the way he went about it. Teams need to prepare for the draft and the next season. Not "Im done, wait Im not sure, Im coming back, no Im not"

He should have retired after last seasons magical year. I think McNabb is going there for a few season to groom a QB. (which is what washington should do but they offered him carzy contract that they just can not and wont honor-but its washngton who the fuck knows)

It's hard to say since the league didn't really care about concussions until this year. He's taken a lot of hard shots over the years and I'd speculate at least a dozen but it could be more than that.

Similar to Tebow, I don't hate him as a player, I just hate the media coverage he receives.

I definitely agree with you, I think the attention around Favre has been annoying. He should not have come back this season, ending his career throwing a pick in the NFC Championship trumps being flattened at a college stadium a year later.

He's the embodiment of everything that is great about this sport
            What ?!?

A guy who thinks hes more important than any player or coach. A guy whos impaired teams from getting replacements or better players because of his indecision. A guy who wasted a year for a franchise (jets). Destroyed another coaches chance at having any respectability. Someone who was nothing short of a distraction for his front office and teammated for 3-4 straight off seasons. Thats whats good about football ??

Brett Favre is the hallmark of what is WRONG with todays athletes. Im not even going to get into his team crippling INTs thrown solely on his selfish "yeah I can do it all with my arm" rookie attitude.

You guys want to live in the mid 90s thats fine. But hes a selfish spoiled attention whore whos been as detrimental as he ever was positive for this game.

Anyone who denies the great things this lil dick bastard has done over the years is foolish, and I don't think anyone here legitimately does that. Some hate him and some love him, whatever.

                      But this...

...can also not be ignored, and it is, by just about every one of the Favre ball fluffers here. He made it all about him by his own decisions. Don't go blaming the media or whatever the fuck, he infected our morning Game Day's and sunday night Primetime's with his drama, fuck him.

He's so fucked this season that it's easy to forget how good he actually was.

I didn't see him in his prime, but earlier this decade he was the shit. Until the past few years, he was arguably the biggest icon in all of sports.

Yeah, it's not like multiple concussions ended Steve Young or Troy Aikman's career 10 years ago or anything ...

A dozen concussions is a laughable exaggeration, and if it were true, he's about 6 months away from turning into a vegetable.

But the NFL didn't give a shit, if they could have peeled themselves up off of the turf they could have gone right back in the game before this year.

The officially diagnosed number of concussions for Steve Young was 7 and Troy Aikman was 10. They have both said they believe the number to be higher. That means Young averaged a concussion once every 20.4 games and Aikman averaged one every 18 games.

Considering the shots that Favre has taken over a significantly longer period of time and his disregard of the opinions of the medical staff, it will likely never be known jus how many he had so hence my use of the word speculation.
