Disappointing 40 time for WR Vincent Brown from San Diego State with a 4.71, worst among the wideouts.

Guess unless something changes, he's nothing more than a potential 6th rounder at best unless someone falls in love with his size.

I do think they can bulk up a bit though, so it shouldn't be too bothersome, should it?
Two things I have to say about that.

      1. The trend in each position is going in the opposite direction. Today almost every top ranked WR over 6'1 has become a workout warrior, tryin to look like TO or something. So I think we're seeing that trend of bigger stronger WR's now...who knows, maybe some of these big boys could be a solid pass rusher but that's just me speculating. The trend on the defensive line has been less power and more agility, quickness, and speed especially when the athlete is a more finesse pass rusher.

      2. Still, the scouting report on Quinn and Smith label their first weakness as not enough bulk and then go on to talk about their poor ability to anchor at the point of attack, which is when/where a strong bench number would translate IMO. In Bowers case I expected a better bench number. It might not be that big a deal though.

Yeah that's fucking slow.. And isn't he like five foot nothing and one hundred an nothing? Point is he's not a big guy...and he's fucking slow. I'd never draft him.

Oops, nevermind, thought I was talking about DeAndre Brown. It wasn't DeAndre...nevermind

          Sucks for Vincent Brown though

I'd still draft Vincent Brown. You can't overlook how well he did in the Senior Bowl just because of a slow time. He was never expected to be a speedy guy anyway.

4 for 43 yards, really? Really, he did that well at the Senior Bowl? 1 completion for 1 yard, the rest were within one drive and he wasn't covered well on any of those plays.

Brown had great stats against shit WCC defenses, but I wouldn't have high expectations of him in the NFL. And he certainly wasn't the first average WR to have great numbers at the Sr Bowl. He's just so overrated. Drafttek.com ranks him 5th at WR, draftcountdown.com and CBSsports.com at 13th. I just don't think he's draftable anywhere before the 4th maybe 3rd round if I had little depth at WR. But he'll likely be drafted in the 2nd round, and that's fine. I'd never spend a first day draft pick on a sub-package WR is all I'm saying. If he were around in the 4th (but I don't expect it) I'd take him. I just think he's too small and too slow to get open in the NFL. He's going to get covered like a shadow at midnight, no QB will find him out there. He's not the first below-average WR to have productive Senior Bowl BTW.

You can't simply use the stats for the game to determine how he did at the SB. If you were watching practice all week he was the 3rd best WR behind Leonard Hankerson and Titus Young IMO.

No one is saying that he should be a high pick. At best he'll go where you just said he'll go. The 3rd or 4th.

My final point, just look at Davone Bess. He didn't have a good 40 time and he's done a pretty good job so far with the Dolphins. Vincent Brown is very similar to Davone Bess. Slow and small receivers, but very quick and great route runners.

GREAT EXAMPLE! Bess and Brown. Thank you. If Davone Bess is a starter on your football team, God Bess you...draft Vincent Brown. My point is Bess is an average WR, who wouldn't be a starter on almost NFL teams. I just wouldn't waste a first day pick on a guy who'd never start on my team. Right now, if Vincent Brown is the 5th ranked WR, and a 35-50 pick projection, I'm just saying he's not draftable by me. I wouldn't waste a pick that high on him. If he were undrafted like Bess, hell yes I'll give him a chance.

I saw the senior bowl coverage. I even saw the senior bowl spotlight of the guy on youtube. He's just not that good. It would be one thing if he had that 'Jerry Rice game speed', which he doesn't. He does run good routes. He's solid at route running, which is very important. But NFL corners are much better at covering, and the ones who aren't are usually fast/quick enough to make up for it. If Vincent Brown weren't ranked the 5th-13th WR I wouldn't care to discuss him on VSN. But considering his current projection, and the news that he ran very very slow, and everything else we know about him, I'm just saying he's not draftable that high.

So Robert Quinn didn't exactly shut down the combine like Mayock and others expected - but Cameron Jordan, JJ Watt and Marvin Austin sure in the hell did. Those three really stood out. I still don't like what I saw from Austin at UNC, but he's always had ability.

Jeremy Beal ran a 5.13 and 5.18. Wow.

Funny to hear Warren Sapp shit on JJ Watt just because he's from the Big Ten.

Dontay Moch with a 4.44 official and 42'' vert.

Brooks Reed is DOING WORK and NFLN is giving him zero attention.

I'm not sure Aldon Smith would make a good 3-4 linebacker. He looked very stiff.

Von Miller is putting up great numbers and he's not even breaking a sweat out there. 4.46 and 4.53 unofficial, 10-6 BJ and 37" VJ. He's carrying the extra weight very well. Shiiit, if he keeps this up he might not be there at #5.

Justin Houston with 4.64 and 4.63 unofficial. That's pretty good at 270.

Akeem Ayers with a pair 4.8s. Meh. It's not good, but I don't think it will tank him.

Martez Wilson with a 4.4.

Ok I was just informed that Irving is there at the combine, but will not be doing any drills at all until Pro Day. I guess he is there to just meet with teams.
