Pretty good recruiting pitch if I've ever heard one.

    Time to capitalize in recruiting...

Auburn has now lost both coordinators on the heels of losing Tracy Rocker last year - nobody likes Chizik and that house of cards is beginning to crumble.

Florida is in disarray and just lost their OC and Strength & Conditioning coach. Concensus seems to be Muschamp is a lunatic who is in over his head.

Bama lost its OC, could possibly lose Kirby Smart as well, plus rumors of Saban going to Texas are getting stronger and stronger...and Bama doesn't have Texas' oil money.

Tennessee is in complete shambles and Dooley and staff will be on the street a year from now.

We have a great shot to finish 11-3, SEC East Champs, and a guaranteed top 10 ranking in preseason. Richt will get a contract extension in the coming weeks. We can offer both early PT and chance to win championships, and your son will play for Mark Richt for his entire UGA career.

We need to ratchet this thing up - we could clean up in recruiting again if we capitalize.

Stole this from tOSU's scout premium board... just thought it was a neat look-in at how recruiting goes:

at the end of the official visits for Pittman and Dunn----Urban Meyer walked them both out to their cars and said their goodbye's....

Meyer reminded Pittman that he was coming up the following evening(Monday) to visit.....

Dunn then asked Meyer if he was coming by to see him on Tuesday......and Meyer said "you know Brionte, its a long drive up there and back --on back to back nights----so why don't we just put this off until January---and then I will come see you then"

Dunn agreed that was ok with him---and got into his car.....

then Meyer tapped on the window and had Brionte roll it down and he said "on second thought, if you are ready to commit to Ohio State--and stop this flirting around with other schools---you call me tomorrow, and I will drive back up to see you--right away---even if I was just up there the previous night"

Brionte smiled and told him he would think about that offer.

Next morning at 730am Urban's phone rings---its Brionte saying "I want to commit coach--will you come up and see me at my house tonight"

Meyer said "my pleasure Brionte---see you tonight"

that my friends, is how it is done....

                  Alphonse Taylor Drops Florida State?

According to a statement issued by his coach this morning, Alphonse Taylor has decided against attenting Florida State University. Per the Huntsville Times:

"After much deliberation and conversation, Alphonse Taylor has decided against attending Florida State University," Riley's statement said. "We have spent the greater part of the past two days discussing this decision and its ramifications. I have met with the family and they are in full support of their son and Florida Stare was notified of his decision this morning.

"As you are aware we frown upon this type of thing at Davidson and this has been discussed at great length with Alphonse. We are asking that he be allowed a couple of days to work through this and he will not be available or making any public statements concerning this or his future until sometime Friday." -
We have not (and to my knowledge, nobody else has) seen any quote from Taylor. We are dealing with 17-year old kids, and they change their minds all the time. I have no idea what Taylor will do.

The guess is that he'll go to Alabama. But there's no guarantee that Alabama has room. And since Taylor is supposed to enroll early, it complicates things further. I'm sure playing in the Alamaba-Mississippi All-Star game last week did not help FSU's chances.

Taylor still has a lot of things to work on, but isn't a player FSU wanted to lose. Taylor was not likely a candidate to play early, because he is extremely raw at the position and needs to get in better shape.
From our scouting report in April:

As a player, Alphonse Taylor is certainly raw. At 6'6" and about 340 pounds, he packs tremendous power. His agility is good for his size, though he'll definitely need to get in better condition when he arrives in Tallahassee. Taylor wants to play left tackle in college, though he could also play right tackle or defensive tackle. Right tackle is the best bet, as his game is more power than agility. That FSU let him commit as an offensive tackle is encouraging in and of itself, as coach Rick Trickett is picky about his linemen. If he believes Taylor can play for him, that's really all you need to know given his track record. Taylor's academic profile is an unknown at this time. He would, however, be the largest player on Florida State's roster.

                      Shark,

Your UGA insider is a loon if he thinks Saban is going to Texas. Mack's going to be around for another 2-3 years at the least unless he's lying to everyone in the Texas program right now.

"Top high school quarterback prospect Gunner Kiel, from Indiana, is said to be down to former in-state power Notre Dame and Vanderbilt," the Saturday Down South blog wrote.

Notre Dame was disappointed with the play of Tommy Rees this year. Dayne Crist is transferring. Andrew Hendrix is expected to be in the mix. But, Kiel could still make an immediate impact in South Bend due to all the uncertainty at the position under head coach Brian Kelly.

Vanderbilt is looking to build a legitimate foundation under head coach James Franklin.

"Kiel taking snaps under center and handing the football off to Brian Kimbrow -- Vanderbilt's top recruit -- for four years sounds very good right now to all Commodores fans," the blog continued.
No mention of Everett Golson in this article

But I'm done with Rees. Unless he blows me away against F$U.

Hendrix, Golson, and Kiel next year at QB.

Kiel would be an awesome get. Part of me thinks he ends up at Vandy though just because he will play sooner there. Seems like a kid who wants on the field right away and could do so more easily at Vandy. Hendrix has been encoruaging this season, the staff is raving about Golson, and Rees will alway sbe solid enough to be around.

If Kiel wants on the field faster he will end up at Vandy.

Kiel landing at Vanderbilt would be HUGE. I don't even know how good he is, or isn't, but Franklin is a solid coach and a big time get like that would be a feather in his cap that could open the flood gates for more big time recruits. With most of the East cratering to horrifying depths, now is the time for Vandy to pounce.

VANDY IS GONNA SHAKE UP THAT SEC EAST POWER STRUCTURE.
