Really was hoping to see Urban make a push for him (Santos was talking about coming in on a visit before Texas offered).Comment

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with Texas grabbing him. The Big 12 seems to be shifting towards run-oriented spread schemes and Diaz is always focused on removing the run game from the equation first, so Santos should get a lot of play this year.Comment

Both Ohio St. and USC's coaching staffs are expecting to receive Kyle Dodson's LOI tomorrow... should be interesting to watch this one play out. Both team's insiders are confused as all hell right now.Comment

Wow... former OSU commit who decommitted because he didn't have the grades to qualify.Comment

Was looking back at some of my earlier posts from August...
I guess Geno was in Athens this past weekend, and we definitely could use some CBs after losing three this offseason. Still, I would never bet against little Nicky on NSD.
If UGA can close with JHC, A. Young, Josh Dawson, and Cordarrelle Patterson I will be extremely happy. I don't think there is any chance at flipping Brandon Greene from Alabama or of getting JaQuay Williams from Auburn. I mean c'mon, JaQuay...Auburn, that's a prefect fit.Comment

Enjoying the Knoxville meltdown. Didn't even realize you guys picked up Deion Bonner either. I kind of erased him from my mind after the UGA theft incident. Talented player, but just another head case it looks like, Da'Rick v2.

Temple stealing some recruits baby!!
Owls making moves on the eve of Signing Day
01/31/2012John LambLeave a commentGo to comments
As reported by Keith Pompey and OwlScoop.com($), Temple has landed a verbal committment from Archbishop Wood safety Nate Smith.
The 5-11, 176-pound safety was originally set to go to West Virginia but decommitted when defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel left his post to coach with former Mountaineer boss Rich Rodriguez at Arizona.
Temple was originally thought to be the runner-up for his services when he first verballed to West Virginia in October. He also received scholarship offers from the likes of Michigan State and South Carolina.
Smith, a three-star prospect, is considered the 21st best safety in the country according to Rivals. He is the second recruit in the span of a week that Temple has pried away from the Virginias as the Owls landed the services of 6-4, 213-pound Romond Deloatch last weekend after his visit with Virginia Tech didn’t prove to be rewarding.
With the addition of Smith, the talk of “Temple’s greatest recruiting class ever” may have some weight behind it. As it stands right now, the Owls have five three-star recruits set to join the program and a slew of highly-regarded two-star prospects that may have been passed over by the big boys for one reason or another.
Games aren’t won on paper but Steve Addazio, Matt Rhule and the rest of Temple’s coaching staff is certainly infusing the program with a caliber of talent that has never been seen before on North Broad Street.

The Daily News is reporting that former Penn State quarterback Kevin Newsome is transferring to Temple. The former four star recruit will have two years of eligibility remaining and can play immediately due to the fact that he sat out last season.
The competition between Newsome and the incumbent Chris Coyer should be very, very interesting. Don’t forget about JUCO wildcard Clinton “Juice” Granger, either.

Hate to break the news to you Knight...
I am told by a couple of sources that JHC will narrow it down to UGA and UF tonight. Michael Langston, from Warchant.com, and I just spoke, and we have both heard the same info. So it looks like UGA and Florida.
Based on the info I have heard in the past week or so, this is good news for UGA concerning JHC because Florida was essentially out of it a week ago.
Stay tuned.Comment
