Looks like ND's season can be summarized by one word: turnovers. It doesn't matter how well the Irish can move the ball on offense if they're going to give the ball to the other team when they get close to the endzone. This needs to be the number one priority for this coaching staff going forward. ND has no chance against the better teams on the schedule if these offensive performances (pun intended) continue.

The defense folded in the fourth quarter and gave up a whopping 28 points. Gary Gray in particular had a horrible game and is responsible for giving up the last two plays for Michigan.

Tough to see another last second loss to Michigan for a third year in a row.

At this point, I'm worried that ND might even lose to lowly Purdue if these trends continue.

In all honesty, Denard Robinson fucking sucks, but his WRs bailed him the fuck out on 10 of his 11 completions, yet he will get all the buzz with the general public.

What I have to question is how the fuck do you give up a 60 yard pass when you're looking for it.

I assume you mean on the last drive. Gray jumped a route (that was covered by a linebacker) and left a massive hole in the secondary. To which my reaction (and I'm sure many ND fans) was

This team right now and the way they are losing games is so uncharacteristic of a Brian Kelly coached team I don't even know what to think.

As Buzzman said Denard will get all the hype and the press but everyone will forget his WR's and Gary Gray/Harrison Smith/Zeke Motta bailed him out on 95% of his completions.

I guess the one thing I can look on the bright side about is that ND is out playing teams for a vast majority of the game and the mistakes we are making are (I assume) correctable. We aren't getting "out athleted" or over matched. We are just shooting ourselves in the foot over and over again.

What was it tonight? Another 3 turnovers inside the opponents 30? Gary Gray forgetting how to defend poorly thrown jump balls or blowing a fucking prevent coverage?

Fuck that single back under center bullshit Kelly kept calling. I think of the 5-6 times we ran it in 3rd and short that I can recall 95% of the plays were either stuff or ended up in a turnover. I think the second Rees fumble was on first and goal.

I just had to LOL at Denard. Is there a worse QB in NCAA? Threw up literally 10 jump balls, and UM's guys kept winning em. That was bad.

Random sidenote though, I would sell my child to see Teo in a Bears uniform in the future.

And FT - we've been doing that since the Weis era.

At least the Weis era it was part of the package. We are so damn predictable when Kelly lines up like that in short yardage. We'd be better off running 3rd and 2 out of the standard gun and making them guess and honor the quick pass. With Rees under center the defense doesn't have to honor it.

I couldn't watch the whole game and didn't watch last week, but do we ever, EVER pass from under center. I swear to God we don't, other than Rees' fumble on that fade pass.

I think we rolled Rees out off of it in the second half at one point. But it's really rare and when we do pass out of it it's usually on 1st or 2nd down. Not 3rd and short.
