The Official Sports Talk Radio Thread

I know I'm not the only person who listens to sports talk all the time, so here's a place to discuss whatever you listen to both nationally and locally. Hear somebody say something retarded? Want to join on the Colin Cowherd hate bandwagon with me?

    Who do you listen to?

I listen to 660 WFAN NY, 97.5 the Fanatic a Philly station, and my ESPN Radio iPhone app.

I can't stand WIP 610 Philadelphia, Colin Cowherd, Steve Somers on WFAN, and most notably, Howard Eskin, who thank god for 97.5, I never have to listen to HK again.

My favorites: Tony Bruno (97.5 and nationally at night), Boomer Esiason on WFAN mornings, and I enjoy my fair share of Scott van Pelt.

Missanelli is hit or miss, Francessa is a pompous know it all jackass who is very knowledgeable though, and Mike and Mike is atrocious to listen to.

I can't stand Mike and Mike. I used to go out of my way to listen to Cowherd for his off-topic rants and his interest in college football, but it got old. Cowherd is too big for his britches now. Now I don't even listen to the booyah network's Chicago station anymore. I just stick to the local sports talk which is much, much better.

If you have Sirius and dont listen to NFL radio religiously you're missing out. Pat Kirwan, Tim Ryan, Adam Shein and Gil Brandt bring the knowledge. They have ex players like Gannon and Derrick Brooks who are pretty good as well.

Paul Finebaum brings the heat with the SEC talk although its mostly Alabama and Auburn fans rednecking it up every day.

I peruse other shows on Sirius

The only time i ever listen to anything other than Sirius is for local yokels talking titans, preds, sec football. I listen to the Wake Up Zone in Nashville with Frank Wycheck(titans radio), Mark Howard (preds tv) and Kevin Ingram (vandy football sideline reporter and voice of Belmont Bruins basketball)

Consider me in the minority here at VSN but before i had satellite radio and Jim Rome was on FM in Nashville i listened every day for about 10 years. He was hilarious and i miss the show. I just cant stand AM radio, i have a hard enough time with FM anymore.

used to be big cowherd fan cause he always seemed to say some smart things but not so much now. I dont like mike and mike but ill take them over Dan Patrick. if anything DP is the most self serving of all radio hosts. Ill catch jim rome when i can, i probablty like him second best.

but my fav right now without a doubt and i think they are a Socal duo is Petros and Money. every time i listen to them im laughing and petros has a great radio voice.

Joe Namath was on the radio spouting off about how he thinks Drew Stanton is a good starting caliber QB in the NFL.

Is his name like Petros Popadokilis? I used to listen to a cat with a similar name on Fox Sports Radio back in the day who was pretty good. It has to be the same guy.

edit: google says yes Petros Papadakis is the same guy im thinking of

I like Dan Patrick.. The 'Danettes', eh not so much. But I think Dan Patrick sees through the bullshit overall (most appealing attribute in talk radio IMO).

Also wanna add that when Steve Czaban was on Fox Radio I enjoyed him in the mornings.. They replaced him a couple years ago with Stephen don't forget the A Smith... also atrocious.

Im a delivery driver, so I listen to lots.

In the morning, if I choose, I listen to the local guys in Chicago (670) Mully and Hanley. I hate Mike and Mike with a passion. I cant express that enough. Greeny ruins it for me, it just sucks.

I listen to Dan Patrick. I think hes the best. Sometimes I listen to Rome, but he gets annoying real fast.

In the afternoon, back to local Chicago (670), and its Chicago's Boers and Bernstien. My favorite show.

Jim Rome is so fucking annoying. You have to take him in very light doses. However, I love when he plays the, "You don't like that call, I don't like that call" LaDainain Tomlinson sound bite.

                    edit: this sound bite:

I get to listen to the Redskins get shit on religiously on ESPN 980 and even more so on 106.7 The Fan. I stream 620 WDAE for Tampa Sports Radio.

I need to get XM because I know I'm missing out on a lot of other quality shows out there.
Worked at Clear Channel for a number of years Pete. I have to disagree with you on this one though. Duemig is a blow-hard and arrogant. I still listen to 620 though. Darek Sharpe and Justin Pawlowski are entertaining as well. I only listen to sports talk radio. I don't listen to music.

When I go to bed at night (like I will in a few minutes) I turn on 620 and listen to Tony Bruno & JT "The Brick" at night. Wake-up to Sileo and catch Ron & Ian in the mornings. I flip between Duemig and JP Peterson in the afternoons.
