Here is the official schedule for the Hawks.

    2009 Hawks Schedule

Three straight road games weeks 10, 11, 12 because of a soccer game going on week 11. Then they finish the season @ GB week 16 and at home vs the Titans week 17. I see the Hawks going between 8-8 and 10-6.

Looks like it could be a close race with the Cardinals this year. Could come down to the last 2 weeks. Also, no Monday or late Sunday games this year. I know they were shitty last year but I think the NFL has some issues with the Hawks. They should have had at least 1 prime time game.

Well, judging from this article it seems the Hawks will not be taking an O-lineman with the 4th pick. That leaves, Sanchez, Curry and Crabtree as my top three prospects for the 4th pick. I'm still not sold on the Sanchez idea and don't feel we really need Curry. I would really like the Hawks to take Crabtree but wouldn't be too upset if Sanchez sat for a few years before he gets thrown into the fire.

Yeah, unlike a lot of other drafts, I am expecting to see about a half dozen surprise moves, whether it be surprise picks or trades.

Combine that with the fact that Ruskell has previously said he's never been sold on the need to take a tackle early in the draft, and it's hard to see the Seahawks choosing someone at that position No. 4 overall.
I am not crazy about Monroe.. but Ruskell is out of his mind if he thinks he can get a franchise tackle in the mid rounds opposed to early in the draft.

As with most positions, you can get a franchise player in the later rounds but, it becomes less and less likely the longer you wait. I mean, guys like Orlando Pace and Walter Jones were 1st round guys but there are times when you can get a Flozell Adams in the 2nd, or even a guy like Jason Peters who wasn't even an OT when he was drafted.

Those are extremely rare instances though.. it's like QB.. once you get past the first round, the odds of finding a franchise guy are extremely high.

If this was his stance on running backs, wide receivers, etc.. I'd agree.. but not offensive tackles.

                  Seattle Times Hawks Draft Article

Well if the Hawks follow this concept in the draft it seems to me like the only two options would be Curry or Crabtree. Luckily for me, both of these guys are 1 and 2 on my Hawks wish list. Both guys would be great as Seahawks too.

FWIW Peter King is reporting we'll take Crabtree or Curry tomorrow.. says he got this from a source close to the team.

Which, I tend to believe, given the fact his daughter writes for Seahawks.com now

After seeing an interview with both Curry and Crabtree, I am hoping we get Curry. Crabtree seemed to be very gangsta. Curry seemed to be a very professional guy. But of course I don't know shit besides what I saw in that interview. Crabtree might be a saint so whatever.

Hawks have a great shot to get either a Center or OT in the second round. Maybe even a top WR.

I agree 100%. That was a great move. Denver should be a 5-15 pick next year. Plus, we could trade both of the 1st rounders for a top 5 pick. A QB or safety if need be. I love that move. Great job Seattle management.

What a great first day.. Curry and Unger. And we got a future 1st for our 37th overall as well.

Hate grading drafts before the players play, but you have to be excited by this.

Curry should be very solid, Unger should improve our line and next year we have a shot to get so much better as well. Maybe get the QB of the future, LT of the future or shore up our secondary.
