    Minnesota Vikings QB Conundrum

I thought Webb showed promise in the final games of last season. Surprised they took Ponder.

Coming into the draft and when most people thought he'd be a 2nd round pick a lot of people said Ponder was "NFL ready," but when he went 12th overall now people don't expect much from him...and I've heard the bust label being thrown around. Strange.

I see Ponder as the starter.

I think Webb would be a great story if he got the opening day start and continued his good play, I was rooting for him last year

I smile and LOL at Minnesota giving up a first round draft pick to select two second round guys, after they gave there third away last season.

Instead of getting 1-2-3 round talent, they got 2-2. Bwahahahaha.

I've never liked Ponder. I think in general FSU's offense has the QB throwing deep to tall WRs or using play action....there isn't much "precision" involved. And when I saw Ponder play a team with a good defense, he didn't look all that great. JMO.

I think Webb deserves serious consideration going into training camp based on how he looked last fall.

Webb definitely deserves a chance, he played well at the end of the year

Joe Webb has no chance to be their starting QB. Anyone who thinks he's good enough to be a starting QB at this point got a groan.

better than throwing a rookie to the wolves who could end up sucking like Mark Sanchez or getting hurt every three games like Matthew Stafford. not everyone can jump right in there like Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco. the odds are against him starting from day one. the Vikings are gonna lose games this season, might as well let Ponder take his time and step in when he's truly ready.

What conundrum? You don't draft a QB 12th overall if you want to bench them for Joe Webb.. come on now.

Ponder starts from day 1 unless they sign/trade for a veteran QB

Finally the Vikings would have a QB they could trust.

But you think he'll end up sucking based off of what? He has Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart in the backfield, Jim Kleinsasser (one of the best blocking TE's in the game) Visanthe Shiancoe, and rookie Kyle Rudolph at TE. Then at WR you have Percy Harvin, because of the CBA there is also a good chance Sidney Rice comes back. Their offensive line isn't great but they are definitely more than manageable for a young player. Oh and btw, Bill Musgrave is the Vikings offensive coordinator who was Matt Ryan's QB coach. Joe Webb is absolutely terrible and I don't understand why they would stall a young QB's development just because he might suck?

They had all those players LAST YEAR too (with a HOF QB).

and Mark Sanchez has all the talent in the world on his offense as well and still plays like shit. the Jets could have had the same results with Mark Brunell at quarterback while Sanchez took time to learn the ropes.
