Southern California's appeal of penalties from the Reggie Bush case has been denied, according to multiple reports.

The football program was banned from the postseason for two seasons and had 30 scholarships cut during a three-year period because the NCAA ruled Bush received impermissible benefits.
According to The Los Angeles Times, which cited several people familiar with the appeal, those penalties were upheld. Bryan Fischer of CBSSports.com also confirmed the news.
The Trojans sat out a bowl game in 2010 but have not instituted the scholarship ban.
USC coach Lane Kiffin signed a full recruiting class last February, which will push those penalties to start in 2012.
The decision would mean the school will not be eligible for a bowl game in 2011 and cannot play in the initial Pac-12 championship game.
It also opens the door for the Bowl Championship Series to strip the school of its national championship in 2004 because of Bush's participation that season.
"(The BCS presidential oversight committee) will act when we learn something officially from the NCAA," BCS executive Bill Hancock told USA TODAY.
USC had filed its appeal after the decision was handed down in June 2010. The school made its case to the NCAA in January.
"All I will say is that I want to thank the NCAA for giving us an opportunity before the appeals committee to have a good and fair hearing," school President Max Nikias said at the appeal hearing in January. "Now we have to wait for the ruling."
