The Bears can have him. He will show up one game and totally fucking disappear for 3 more. Wash Rinse Repeat.

      This.

Except I'm talking about Roy Williams.

      He's a good blocker, though.

Saints agreed to terms with Darren Sproles on a four-year, $14 million contract.
We love it. For all of the hype about Bush as a valuable chess piece for Sean Payton and Drew Brees, the Saints have averaged more yards and points with him out of the lineup. Empirically, Sproles is a more effective and explosive backfield receiver, averaging over 10 yards per reception the past three seasons while grading out as Football Outsiders' top receiving back from 2008-2010. Payton uses his backfield like a bullpen full of specialists, but it's hard to see how this signing doesn't kill Pierre Thomas' fantasy value

The Sacramento Bee reports Michael Crabtree could miss 4-6 weeks of training camp and preseason action with a foot injury that kept him out of player-organized workouts.
In other words, Crabtree is going to miss his third straight preseason. The injury is to the same foot that Crabtree had surgically repaired prior to the 2009 draft, though it's not certain if it's an aggravation or a separate ailment. Either way, it's serious enough that the 49ers will pursue a veteran receiver to fill in opposite Josh Morgan. They were reportedly in on Chad Ochocinco. The recovery timetable leaves Crabtree questionable for Week 1. He could've used the reps to work on his failed chemistry with Alex Smith. We don't trust the 49ers QB situation or Crabtree's foot. He will start camp on the PUP list, confirming the 49ers' concern

Given our situation this is a risk we have to take.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has joined Profootballtalk in hearing that the Cowboys could be a lurking in the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes.
Even though Johnathan Joseph's decision to sign with the Texans was expected to light a fire under the Asomugha situation, the night was quiet. According to Schefter, "some people in the league believe that Dallas is lurking in the background." The Jets still have to be considered the front-runners, with the Niners and Raiders also in play

                    here is the deal

Bears agreed to terms with Roy Williams on a two-year deal.
Williams is reunited with Mike Martz, who helped the 29-year-old receiver reach his lone Pro Bowl back in 2006. Williams brings desperately needed size to the Bears' receiving corps and immediately gets a boost by playing for a coach that has confidence in him. Martz will find ways to help Williams separate and run many more three-wide sets than he did last year. Roy E. is back on the fantasy radar

New Bucs P Michael Koenen's six-year deal is worth $19.5 million, including $6.5 million guaranteed.
We don't normally do separate posts for contracts, but this is like spending a ninth-round fantasy pick on your kicker. It just doesn't make a lot of sense, especially when Koenen finished 28th in the league in net punting average last season.
Tampa Bay paying their punter the big bucks (no pun intended).

What do you do when you have $60M in cap space like Tampa? Apparently you give a punter $19M.

I'll wait to hear what the contract is for R. Williams to the Bears before I dismiss it.

Quietly, Jacksonville's defense got better with Dwan Landry, Clint Session and Paul Poslusny, three nice signings.

The Colts can't do much in free agency until they do a Peyton Manning contract.

Sam Hurd to Chicago. The Bears FA strategy appears to be "let good weapons go in exchange for reject Cowboys receivers"
