The Colts have signed former Bears DT Tommie Harris(notes) to a one-year deal, according to Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times.
The Bears cut Harris, who was their first-round pick in 2004, before the lockout. Harris made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2005-2007.
In 2010, he played in 15 games with six starts, recording a career-low 1.5 sacks.
Harris reportedly had a visit with the Patriots as well. The Colts lost DT Daniel Muir(notes) to the Rams via free agency.

A league sources tells the Baltimore Sun that the asking price for Giants DE Osi Umeyiora has dropped to a second-round pick.
The same source confirms that five teams are in the hunt, including the Ravens and Patriots. Several members of the Ravens front office are urging GM Ozzie Newsome to pull the trigger, but he's reportedly concerned about Umenyiora's history of hip and knee injuries. Newsome also has salary cap issues to consider with Ray Rice and Joe Flacco in line for extensions. Signing Haloti Ngata to a long-term deal would helping free up space, lowering his 2011 salary. NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora adds the Falcons to the list of teams interested in Umenyiora at the right priceComment

The Rams will finalize a deal with free agent Cadillac Williams Wednesday, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
The Rams wisely didn't stop their search for a backup running back when they signed Jerious Norwood Tuesday. While Williams and his bionic knees certainly aren't explosive, he'd be capable of carrying a decent-sized workload if Steven Jackson were to go down. Caddy could also end up spelling Jackson on some third downs, but would barely get any early-down reps as long as S-Jax is healthy.Comment

The Minnesota Vikings parted ways with Bryant McKinnie(notes) after Mt. McKinnie nearly tipped the scales at 400 pounds.
McKinnie refused to agree to a pay cut and the Vikings finally cut ties with the player who had been in the middle of so many problems in the past. He was a central figure in the “Love Boat” escapade and he was in a street fight in Miami three years ago. Two years ago, he blew off the Pro Bowl while tweeting that he spent much of the week at a strip joint in Miami.
The Vikings couldn’t overlook McKinnie’s issues any longer when he showed up for training camp out of shape and failed his physical and was placed on the non-football injury list. McKinnie’s cholesterol was also through the roof. He had tweeted early in the offseason that he was hiring a personal trainer.
Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports the move signals personnel boss Rick Spielman and coach Leslie Frazier aren’t going to put up with “nonsense” that derailed the team in the recent past.
The 31-year-old McKinnie will be replaced by Charlie Johnson(notes), who was signed in free agency from the Indianapolis Colts.
"I'll definitely be ready for next season," McKinnie told TMZ.com. "That's not even a question."
Next season is a long ways off.

The Eagles made a contract offer to Randy Moss after the receiver filed his official retirement papers with the league, according to the Boston Herald.
The Eagles just won't stop. Moss' filing of his retirement papers isn't significant as he can unretire any time he wants. If he is truly intrigued by the Eagles' offer, there's a good chance it will still happen. And based on the way veterans are flocking to Philly to play with Mike Vick, we would no longer be surprised.Comment
