against who exactly? their division is full of shitty quarterbacks.

Arizona blatantly tanked last season, and I don't think the Valley would have put up with that shit again. The problem here is we keep selling out that fucking stadium and giving Bidwell (who is pure business, he doesnt give a fuck about football, he just wants to make money) maximum income for such a low investment. People in this town would not have put up with another blatantly tanked season.

this addresses four issues. first. it helps them get up to the new salary floor. second. Kolb is at least as ready as anyone who went in the last draft, and in the next one too. Third, it shows Fitzgerald the team is willing to do what it has to do to win (which was the exact opposite of that pathetic team they fielded last year). and Fourth, it re-energizes the fan base. I am doing laundry right now and theres already a couple of Cardinals towels hanging from balconies that werent there before today. Phoenix is desperate for a winner, the Suns are the definition of blueballs, nobody gives a fuck about the coyotes nor expects them to stick around. about the only game in town is the D'backs, and baseball is... well, baseball. you're alot more likely to have someone give a fuck about football than baseball.

the 2nd rounder was a a bit much, but if you keep your stars happy, keep people coming into the stadium and sell a shit ton of jerseys, there are worse moves you could make. it's not like they traded for a guy like McNabb, who is already who he is. Kolb is hope, and probably guarantees another couple of years of sellouts. People have been sitting around in bars here since the lockout began talking about hopefully getting Kolb (thats what happens when you start derek fucking anderson). You're talking about a town that had Kurt Warner's dancing with the stars appearances as the lead sports story every night. They had to get this deal done, no matter what.

No it doesn't. You have to be really low on energy to let this move energize you. The rest of your post is full of so much wrong as well, I'm just too lazy to give it a proper FT multiquote.

Me? no. I'm a Packer fan for life and have been since i was a little kid growing up in LA after the Rams and Raiders took off. The people in this city? yes absolutely. I mean, if you really think that my experiences watching football at the bar every week, watching the nightly news, speaking to co-workers and the desperation ive seen from the fanbase is "wrong" well, I dont know what to tell you. Cardinal fans are a special kind of battered wives.

What the fuck did you even just say? I'm so confused.

I am not disputing that the Cardinals fans want to win, I'm sure they do. I'm just telling you that you are grossly misrepresenting how much excitement Kevin Kolb will generate.

You really said that he will contribute to sell outs and have jerseys flying off the shelves?

I think this is awfully dumb for AZ. Alot of money for someone less proven than Caleb Haine.

Yeah. I really said that. You can't stutter on the internet. I've lived here about 8 years off and on. and yes, the fanbase is going to be super energized by this.

what exactly is the problem here? I'm a Phoenix local expressing how well it's going to be recieved, and is already being recieved. They sold out that stadium with Derek Anderson under center, but they came dangerously close to losing that all important sellout streak last year. If they had mailed in another year, it wouldn't have kept going. Kevin Kolb has been generating excitement in the Valley during the entire offseason. I can't remember the last time I went out with friends and didn't overhear at least one person say "Once we get Kolb, we'll be in business" when football comes up. ProFootballTalk has been posting the rumors about it all year long. I don't understand how my personal experiences can be "wrong".

I agree Cardinals gave up too much, but I think they're gonna be happy with Kolb.

Agree with Kuzzy. I'm on the Kolb train and all of you slobs can get run over. Not a bad thing when you have Fitzgerald to guide you into the spot.

Gave up too much, it's a shame that they gave up DRC. Him and Patrick could have been great together. Shame.
