Denver is 4-1 with Tim Tebow as a starter this year. More tracker info to follow.Comment

Originally posted by glenwillettI didn't say we never had one penalty. i said its been happening more this offense. Decker and Matt Willis have 2 a piece since week 5 and Dante Rosarii has one as well. So from 1 in five weeeks to five in five weeks...
Originally posted by glenwillettNo we didn't.. we had holding calls because the offensive line can't really pass block yet and we had turnovers because Orton would turn it over but the formation penalties and problems cleanly receiving the option pitch are a byproduct of the new offense. And we used the Tebow RZ package not a once during the first give weeks. So I doubt it was part of many walk-throughs.Comment

Originally posted by glenwillettSorry I meant they didn't out. One in five games who cares? When its the same mental error in five straight games by guys who weren't doing it before I'm going to blame the new formations we haven't practiced until week 8.
i also wonder if the penalties you mention killed those drives, b/c a 5 yard penalty isnt a drive killer...Comment

Zone blocking needs a ton of repetitions against thousands of fronts. When to deuce bump, when to scoop, when to let go, how to pick up a stunt, a blitz, all of these different factors are relevant in a Zone blocking scheme.
Five guys need to have the same plan for it to work. If Denver is having more success now, it's probably because their line is getting more comfortable with each other.Comment

The concept has been the same throughout the season, whether it's Inside Zone or Zone Read. The CONCEPT itself, however, is actually quite complex. The lines I drew earlier don't do it justice at all.

Denver has completely revamped how they attack defenses, and have a FB playing QB. That's why they are running the ball much better now. To chalk it up to the offensive line suddenly gelling is beyond simplification and delves into blissful ignorance/contrarian territory.Comment

If he can play never getting injured from a big hit running the option....he will be great. But when your own coach says they can't run a "normal" offense, it's only a matter of time before he goes into a funk (like all other qb's) and they will be asking for the backup to be put in. The best thing he can do is keep winning and have someone trade for him.Comment

In b4 "you've never seen an NFL practice"
I've on the field for 6 NFL practices, and I intend to head to Chicago next summer to see a couple more. I really want to meet Devin Hester. So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.

Lots of fancy coach speak here, while ignoring the obvious.
