The Bears received permission to do this from NFL Officials during the off-season.

Sound like your kicker needs a lot of practice.Comment

The NFL should have never announced the change. I'm willing to bet most fans wouldn't even have noticed. I can't believe people are complaining about this.Comment

Players get fined by the NFL for things the referees miss. If the Bears got caught by the NFL, they most definitely should get reprimanded. I would say take draft picks away, but that wouldn't matter, their so shitty at that anyways. So that really only leaves a fine.Comment

Fuck off, or we'll trade for you after you die.Comment

Gould is one of the most accurate kickers in NFL History....I'm pretty sure asking him to control the length on his kickoffs from the 35 wouldn't be that difficult of a request.
But as usual the Bears organization is retarded.Comment

Then they get a 5 yard head start as usual. You want to be able to weed out who is and isn't good at covering kicks. This is the best way. Wtf would be the point of telling Robbe Gould to kick a high hanging ball to land at the 5 yard line. It just wouldn't get the same job done as well.Comment

You'll be making it easier for them and how would that end up helping them in the long run? It won't. Making them run 5 more yards than they'll have to, will in fact help them.Comment

Now that I can see. Let's give the Bears the option of staying within the rules and kick from the 35 or they can kick off from the goal line.Comment

I think teams figured out that if you do not kick it out of bounds, you can tackle the ballcarrier before the 20 yard line almost every time since the kickoff team is starting from the 35 instead of the 30 now.
So really, this rule isn't going to help reduce injuries to players... it's just going to make teams start from the 15 now LolnflfailComment
