The hardest part of his story to believe is the prostitutes. You telling me a football star at miami can't get laid by himself on campus? Come on dogComment

Alright on a serious note and a huge Florida State fan, I don't really wish any harm on Miami or Florida except for a few loses in scholarships and what not but this situation is awful, bad for the rivalry. As a college football fan it sucks seeing teams go down for this shit and how terrible the NCAA is with case by case decisions. This has potential to ultimately destroy Miami, bad for FSU (in a sense) and bad for college football. It might not be the death penalty but Miami can not overcome a USC situation, why?
1) money- their funds are terrible
2) facilities- zero some d2 schools have better stuff than a 5X national champion and not to mention they have to drive x number of miles to play a home game
3) minimal fan base
4) Florida and FSU will take over south Florida recruiting
Etc
Just doesn't bold well for Miami and I have mixed emotions about the whole state of the program.
I think the Death penalty would hurt. The school itself doesn't have any inherent advantage other than their winning tradition and the fact that their NFL guys come back to campus to workout. If their winning tradition becomes too much of a thing of the past, and the NFL guys are banned from returning to school, then Miami might have problems.Comment

Miami's rise to dominance is pretty remarkable. I've been to Miami's campus a couple times, and its nothing special. Its like a city, commuter school. My buddy would go to their games a few years ago, but he said he stopped going because the stadium was only 1/3 full and fights would break out.

Miami is a mere competent coach away from always being in the National Championship picture at any time. They were already on a pretty significant probation in the mid-90's and within 5 years they won a National Title and were back on the scene in THREE! Why? They had the best damn evaluator of talent in college football (especially defensive) as their coach.
When Miami started getting really national with their recruiting is when things went down hill. We basically were recruiting guys with their hands out, and if history tells us nothing, when you recruit nationally, especially the players with their hands out you are going to get busted (SMU as example A).
Miami doesn't need to recruit nationally. Maybe grab a QB from California, Pennsylvania, or Texas...maybe grab a few offensive linemen from the mid-west or northeast, but in general, we really never have to move out of the area for talent...this is never more true when you have a coach that can assemble a good staff.
Miami is the perfect stepping stone job for a coach that wants to do big things not just in college football but the NFL level.
But, you are right...facilities are nothing to write home about, the college is a small one located in Coral Gables, small booster base, etc. But, for some reason...it works. Just need a guy that can coach and buy in to the program (Howard, Jimmy, Dennis, and Butch all did while Coker made it a country club and was bad and Shannon was just a bad head coach).Comment

Thank you. We all know big-time college football and basketball is one big cesspool. So why all the surprise when this shit hits the fan?Comment

Here is Miami's advantage...they play in the most talent rich area in the country for high school players.
