Texas and OU in talks with Pac-12. OSU would follow and possibly TT.

The concept of the Pac-16 is again being actively discussed by Pac-12 officials as well as officials at Oklahoma and Texas, a source close to the situation told ESPN's Joe Schad.

The concept of the Pac-16 is again being actively discussed by Pac-12 officials as well as officials at Oklahoma and Texas, a source close to the situation told ESPN's Joe Schad.

The source said those schools know the opportunity to join the Pac-12 is their decision. Oklahoma State is expected to follow Oklahoma's lead and Texas Tech is a possibility as the fourth school. The Longhorn Network is a potentially complicating factor but Pac-12 officials believe the parties could work through that.

Yeah, I just saw this. Looks like it's over.
I hate it, but I have to start praying for a Big East invite for my Jayhawks. And who knows how long that conference will last. There's about to be 4 major conferences, and I would guess that when all the dust eventually settles in a few years that the ACC will be the 4th.

I'm just afraid that my Jayhawks get left out in the cold. KU, K St, Iowa St, & Baylor are schools that nobody will want. No football relevance at all.

Yeah, as a K-State fan I'm really crossing my fingers for a Big East invite.

The Big East will be fine thanks to hoops. Adding Kansas & K-State would be awesome.

Couldn't be happier with this. I get to see Texas play here in California quite a few times each year.

What would the LHN fill their time with?....I read that they only have to give ESPN one game but all their non football games would go to whatever conference they belong to (Pac-12). The Pac-12 would have to take ownership of the LHN (making it regional) or risk Texas getting special treatment again.

Wrong. All Texas has to do is agree to share some of the revenue from the LHN with the rest of the Pac-16.

Money solves everything and the LHN is (potentially) worth MUCH more than the $300 million pricetag that everyone is seeing. 3 commas are in play here, not two.

I also saw someone mention something about a new sort of Big 12. Something that could include the likes of Iowa St, Baylor, K St, Colorado St, Tulsa, SMU, Houston, North Texas, and a few others.

That actually makes a decent amount of sense.

At this point, an automatic bid is gone either way. The B12 is going to drop a tier or disappear completely.
