Aaron Rodgers wasnt on anybody's radar as a "once in a decade" prospect, he just happened to become that later on.

So what you are saying is the phrase "once in a decade prospect" is complete bullshit and nobody should take it seriously?

That was kind of my point.

No i said the complete opposite actually.

Brady & Rodgers werent elite level prospects, Manning was. Luck is expected to be on that level. No draft pick has been expected to be at that level since Manning. Manning was drafted over a decade ago. Its not hard to figure out. Keyword here is prospect.

Good to see Peyton Manning on there twice.

Going back to what you originally said ...

Andrew Luck is a once in a decade prospect. Luck is very likely to be on the same level as Peyton Manning, and except for Aaron Rodgers, none of those players you mentioned are on the same level.
So since Andrew Luck is expected to be as good as the guy who was drafted six years ago, he's a once in a decade prospect. Got it.

What part of "prospect" do you not understand? Rodgers was not a prospect at the same level of Manning & Luck.

But Ryan Leaf was. So... it's all bullshit, right?

You muh fuckers are DYING for Luck to be great right away, without any questions, but its unfair to even put those expectations on the kid, he shouldnt be treated any differently then any other top QB prospect we've ever seen. I really dont think hes going to be as good as people are hoping.

Its not all bullshit. Luck is a much better prospect than Ryan Leaf ever was. It doesnt guarantee anything, if thats your point. But the fact remains Luck is far & away the best QB prospect since Peyton Manning, which was more than a decade ago.

Luck has no flaws in his game, hes not like all the other prospects we've seen since Manning, each one of them had at least some flaws.

But Leaf was obviously considered by many to be a higher rated prospect then Peyton.. and if Luck is a much better prospect then Leaf.. but Luck is the best prospect since Peyton.. you following? Sounds like a big circle to me. You can label the kid whatever you want, ive heard the same label for other QBs in the past.. but at that position there is never any guarantees, and thats the only fact that we know as it relates to Luck.

Leaf & Manning were both drafted over a decade ago, so the point remains, Luck is the highest rated prospect in over a decade. No QB has been as highly regarded since the Manning/Leaf draft. You have never heard the labels of "perfect QB" and "no flaws in his game" for any QB since the Manning/Leaf draft.

                                Phil Simms would disagree...

I've maybe seen this kid play a half of football, but the one thing I do know about him is he's got his head on straight. For years the next great prospect had multi million dollar physical skills and a ten cent head.

If the experts are even close with what this kid brings to the game physically I think we'll see something special. He'll also be a 2nd generation NFL player, so it's not like he'll be overwhelmed by a professional environment..
