Hes served his time , once his nfl suspension is lifted (whenver that is) i hope people just let him play.
However all i can see is nagging and bitching and protesting. Every "animal lover" is going to be booing and jeering whenever hes on their tv or at their stadium.Comment

It will create instant revenue. No matter what he did he was still electric on the field and people will pay to see if he still has it.
The protesters and media are really just giving the team he goes to more coverage and might even produce more revenue. Fans that liked him before he went to jail and have since stopped following him will jump back on the bandwagon.Comment

He will bring negative attention to a team. I am pretty sure Vick's teammates arent going to want to be answering questions all the time about "How does it feel to be Vick's teammate", "Do you believe Vick's is forgiven", and those stupid questions. Look what happened to the Falcons when Vick was first suspended. There was all negative media attention. Whos to say Vick can still be electric on the field. He could of gained weight in prison and lost some speed.Comment

There definitely is such thing as bad press for the NFL. If you are talking about a smaller sport/league that is trying to grow, then its probably true. But any press slash fan reaction that could push fans to move away from the team to some degree is definitely bad.Comment

He could have , he also could not have. Teams will want him , he makes money . Its a money business , if it wasnt a money buisness Marvin Harrison wudnt have been asked to be released by Indy. The Bucs wudnt have cut vets like Derrick Brooks who helped them get a sb. Its all about money and when it comes down to it , Vick is going to equal money.Comment

I doubt Mike Vick signing to a team would cause them to lose their fans baseComment

But will he bring that same excitement. We dont know if he stayed in shape in prison. He has been out two seasons so for him to come back and perform at his peak is probably a less than 5 percent chance.Comment

Perhaps there is no fan or media backlash against Vick at all when he does return to the league. Perhaps there is a massive one. At this point, we just don't know. My entire point is that there could definitely be some negative consequences of the media attention that would accompany any team signing Vick. Not that there will be, but that there could be.
I just really don't buy the "no such thing as bad press" logic when it comes to the NFL. Its like saying all the attention that Pacman Jones got was great for him and his teams. No, it wasn't. It was very negative.Comment

Hes not gonna be , hel be a qb somewhere i promise you. Some people are gonna come just to boo him and hope he fails. Still gonna be there thoComment

I'm probably coming across as a Vick-hater in this thread, which I'm actually not... But how exactly was financing an illegal dog fighting operation and then lying about it "one mistake"? To me, that's one pretty huge series of mistakes. Its like saying that Ryan Leaf made "one mistake" by deciding not to be a good quarterback...Comment

Oh thank God! I'd love to see Michael Vick get out, take a very good defense, and a very good running game, and blow ass in the playoffs again. I'd also like to see his great passing skills, ya know like when he completes every single pass to his TE and RBs? EXCITMENT!
I agree with that one guy (forget who it was), Vick held Roddy White back.Comment
