I love how Zoneblitz's idea basically would take the biggest regular season game of the year/the "Game of the Century" and renderit essentially meaningless

It wouldnt be meaningless if it determines who would host the championship game.

Are NFL games meaningless because sometimes there are rematches in the playoffs??

One of the many things i would change about college football is the division alignment format within a conference. LSU & Alabama are clearly the 2 best teams in the SEC, but a shit team like Georgia will be in the conference title game instead of Alabama, and it will be a blowout. Same thing will happen in the Pac-12 where Oregon & Stanford are clearly the best, but in the same division, so title game will be Oregon vs Arizona State. The conf championship should consist of the 2 best overall teams, not the winners of each lame division. After that you have a legitimate winner of each conference, and you pick the top 6-8 conference champs to have a playoff.

When will common sense & college football finally merge?

If there were no divisions there would be no Championship game. Just like the Pac-12 and Big-10 picked up a Championship game now that they have a division alignment. You can't just ignore the divisions.

Always down to reward fans with another home game. I love that wrinkle in the Pac-12, and it works for them. The SEC will never change from a neutral site though. Too much money to be made from SEC transplants living in Atlanta.

We could see the host rotate between sites down the road, I've heard New Orleans wants to get in on the rotation now that the conference has a more southwestern foot print. I'd be down with that

I don't think college football is fine at all, but SEC football is. How the best conference in the land sees fit to award its champion is far down the list of concerns I have with the direction of college football.

If HFA is so meaningful don't we have an even clearer picture that LSU and Alabama don't need to play again to determine who should represent the SEC since..well LSU.... won on the road?
