My opinion. Since the divisions are going nowhere you leave them as is and just accept that they are what they are (just like in pro sports).

You should HAVE to win your conference to get into the NC. If you happen to slip up and lose to a team that isn't as good (ie LSU losing to Georgia) sorry!! That's how sports works. It wouldn't be the first time in sports (pro or college) that a worse team eliminated a better team costing the better team a shot at a championship.

So then you look at the records/strength of schedule of the Conference Champs and get the top 2.

And as much as a Pac 12 honk as I am I'm against a repeat game. So if LSU and Oregon with their divisions (and let's say OK St loses) and were the two best conference champs I'd have to say no-go to Oregon in the NC. Sorry, you lost. LOSING sucks but that's how sports work.

It's easier to pile on jhen and houston. And it's not about topics you need to have your facts squared away on.

NCAA topics are a bit more technical than "hey, you're a faggot" topics.

I'm with zoneblitz on this one. The divisional setup is usually just an arbitrary arrangement of the teams, and there is even cross-divisional play. My solution would be to say screw divisions, screw conferences. Take the #1 and #2 teams in the preseason poll, have them play each other 11 times during the year, then the year ends with those teams playing each other for a 12th time in the BCS Title game.
