After that, I guess you could make an argument for a group of QBs here that Cutler could be in. For me its Matt Ryan, but Cutler is in the neighborhood.

Yeah, LOL. Manning might be the most overrated QB's in the history of the NFL.

I think he's insinuating that the Falcons will end up with a better record, which is a good possibility.

Bears signed QB Josh McCown, formerly of the 49ers.
The Bears missed out on Kyle Orton when the Chiefs beat them to him in the waivers process. McCown is a fallback option. The 32-year-old former UFL quarterback has been awful on the field throughout his eight-year NFL career, but is familiar with Mike Martz's scheme and can hold a clipboard with the best of 'em. He's probably very little threat to Caleb Hanie's starting job. In terms of the depth chart, McCown figures to compete in practice with rookie Nathan Enderle for the primary backup job.

Yeah, I saw that on Twitter. I thought "Fuck. Fucking Bears going cheap again and not signing Orton instead." I didn't know the Chiefs beat them to him.

It's a damn shame they couldn't coax Bulger out of retirement, in case Hanie shits the bed. I have faith in the kid though.

I think Falcons could go on a run and finish 11-5. Bears 10-6

Top 3 QB in the NFC?! :niggaplease:
I was being nice by calling it an NFC. I would go top 5 in the NFL if you really pressed me. I repeat my original statement: things in the medical world are much more complicated than "a broken thumb". how deep the fracture? at what part of the thumb? was there any peripheral damage the media isnt reporting that we dont know full of medical terminology english major reporters don't have a clue about how to understand? and when your team is 7-3 with a reasonable schedule the rest of the way... why even bother to find out when Hanie damn near finished the deal against future superbowl champions with practice team reps? Everyone forgets how tough that game was. Call it a lack of tape, call it whatever you want, but a few bounces the other way and we'd still be talking about how some unknown kid Hanie finished off the Packers last playoffs.

specifically, I was leaving room for No. 3. I haven't caught a whole lot of Giants games this year, but all accounts, Eli is playing pretty well. If you really want me to spell it out: Eli, Ryan, and Cutler would be my 3 slot. I wouldn't even bother to put up an argument if you picked anyone but Cutler there, I beleive it to be a reasonable conclusion based upon what I've seen. I've never been sold on Ryan, and Eli is just little brother. But that's my opinion, and I don't fault anyone for sharing a different one.

I agree with this completely. Orton knows Ron Turners offense. they fired his ass and brought in Martz. Martz's offense is night and day different from Turners, and you might as well bring in a prospect for that slot if you really wanted to. Orton isn't anymore accustomed to the new Bears offense than he would be anywhere else in the league except St. Louis.

Bottom line: I think they would have outsmarted themselves and simultaneously tanked Orton's offseason next year if he did land with the team. I haven't seen much about Hanie, but I was legitimately terrified after a few series at his ability to beat the Packers in last years playoffs. good enough for me. the kid should play hard with proper coaching and access to first team players all week long.

Do I need to explain this yet again dickbag?

I've lived in and around Baltimore my whole life. The Colts left when I was five. I didn't start paying attention to football until I was about seven or eight? Back then it was all about Da Bears and I've been a fan ever since. Baltimore finally got a team back in 1996. I still root for them because they are the home team but my allegiance is with the Bears. The few times they play each other I of course root for the Bears. I went to a Bears vs Ravens game at M&T Bank Stadium a few years ago decked out in Bears gear.

If you don't like it, go fuck yourself.

Because of two reasons. When I joined MM there were a lot more Bears fans on the site than Ravens fans and ravens52bears54 had a better ring to it.

Would I name both of my dogs after prominent Bears players if I wasn't a diehard fan?

I don't feel like finding the quote but to whoever is questioning Cutler sitting out with a broken thumb on his throwing hand is stupid. He is more of a liability to the team playing injured. The correct thing to do is get the damage repaired and hope for a comeback. Not Favre it and hope for the best. Some legendary players can play great through such an awful injury and some probably will play like they have a broken thumb. Cutler would be one that would.

Does that diminish his skill as a player because he can't throw the ball with a broken thumb? I sure as fuck know I couldn't do it. That is why I say nothing about players who decide to play or not play through injuries. It's easy to condemn a decision sitting in the air conditioning on the internet.

Break the thumb of your throwing hand, then grab a football and try and throw it. I know typically you probably throw 15 yard wobbling ducks, so that should be your standard.
