Athletes need to be careful.....they have to understand what people are trying to do. We all know fans can say whatever they want to players, but it doesn't work the other way around.

I hate hearing about Freedom of Speech when dealing with public officials saying something stupid on social media. The FBI and CIA aren't the ones saying you shouldn't do it, it is your bosses.Comment

i understand that the fans are customers and going at them is bad for business, but some customers are assholes. Pretty stupid how the media feeds into it and makes it an even bigger deal, why they asking Shan about this in a press conference. It's a non-issue, "kill yourself" is a throwaway insult.Comment

Goodell will have a field day with this- not just with Gaffney who didn't apologize for it, but also for Shanahan who just seems to act like its not a big deal and played the ignorance card. Not like its that big of a deal, but some sort of fine is going to come from this.Comment

WHY ARE ATHLETES ON TWITTER AND WHY DO THEY BOTHER ENGAGING TROLL FANS????????
I don't care about Gaffney telling the fan to kill himself, to me it's not a big deal, but ffs these players have to realize that everything gets overblown and twitter just isn't worth the fucking hassle.Comment
